Heated wheel and rear seats being enabled on SR+

Mine activated earlier today while sat at a supercharger, screen went black without warning like it had been rebooted then when it came back I checked and the rear seat and wheel options were there.

Same happened with mine this afternoon. I was downloading a navigation update and thought that must have caused it, but like you, when the screen came back on I noticed I had heated rear seats and steering wheel!

Anyone with an older Q1/2/3 car had the upgrade?
My (last day of) Q3 hasn’t changed. I’d happily pay for the heated wheel if I could.

I wouldn't rule out all hope just yet.

I know for a fact that there's a process Tesla can run on a car to try and activate a heated steering wheel, as I got them to try and do it on my car (a 2020 M3P, which has a 2021 heated wheel fitted), which failed due to other incompatible hardware. But they can do it.

Give it time.. if nothing happens in a reasonable period of time (either them remotely enabling it, or giving you the option to pay to unlock it, or whatever) then flag it with them. At the moment they're probably still doing a rollout.

Still in the upgrade options on my Feb 2020 SR+ but won't have the heated steering wheel anyway.
Never going to pay to enable the rear seat heaters but would be nice to have the option to use what I am hauling around.

Unlikely because they would have to refund all the people who paid for the upgrade previously.

Yes agree or they..could always offer those ppl free SC maybe and enable it still for the early buyers - especially when hw is there

Apparently there’s been a Tesla app update which now offers a “Cold Weather Feature” upgrade, which for qualifying cars includes the heated steering wheel, for the cost of unlocking the rear heated seats.

Perhaps those with a SR+ who got it this year (but before the most recent batch where it’s being given for free) should check it out…

I saw it on another thread on here this morning. The guy was on Android and reported that it had appeared in the app. He said his car was an October 21 SR+ though, so might be available for limited cars.

Don’t worry, I gave up expecting it long ago.

The kids have put the heated rear seat option on their Santa list. They bug me about it every time it’s freezing on the way to school, would be nice if there was also a Christmas present for the driver!

My Sep 2021 SR+ is the same (although having paid for the rear heated seats they’re active). No heated wheel today
