HELP! - I Need Financing for my S

The unfortunate lesson here is that it's probably best to have a credit card, but use it like cash.
Thing is, I do this. And I've had credit card applications refused. Many of the banks really don't want people who pay off their bills every month -- the goal is to find people who can be trapped into debt slavery.

I've also encountered the "MBNA fraud" a couple of times, where the bank pretends not to have received your payment.

For me the main purpose of a credit card as opposed to a debit card is so that if your card number is stolen, it's the bank's problem, not yours. Accordingly, I would never set up auto-payment, which would eliminate that benefit.

My conclusion has been that the major banks are actually operating on a model of debt slavery and fraud, and really want nothing to do with responsible honest borrowers. So it goes.

Ok, it turns out Jon Krumdick from USAlliance can help me, so he's on the case! I have three other banks that are moving forward and it sounds they'll be able to help me too.

My delivery specialist was able to move the delivery to Monday, which gives me the weekend to get all of this straighten out.

As for everything else. Neroden, I think your assessment of the situation is spot on. The companies that do everything through a computer have been useless to me. But the companies that have people on the other end are seeing that the computers are wrong and doing something about it.

Credit cards are just annoying to me. I had one credit card for the specific purpose of improving my credit and it was just one hassle after another. They would never raise my limit to anything useful, or were constantly charging me fees. When I was in Iraq they did this whole thing (which I wont go into detail on) with me and other veterans that turned into a law suit by the Justice Department. It created double work in my accounting system because I had to track credit card transactions, plus payments for those credit card transactions. It was just a hassle and it never did anything for me but cost me money and time. I had it for 5 years and it never helped me, not once.

hvb - None of them have asked me for my previous years income, so that couldn't of played a factor.

Applications for new cards from banks with which you already have a relationship? If not, they can't tell the difference between you paying off the card every month and carrying a balance, especially if your spending is consistent, as long as you pay the card off after you receive your statement (not before). The credit report a creditor will see lists the current balance as of your last statement. So if you spend $200 on your card every month, get your statement, pay it off, and then repeat, there's no way for a new creditor to infer whether you're paying that card off or carrying a $200 balance month-to-month. As long as you're making at least minimum payments, your account status will be listed as "Paying as agreed."

Obviously if you apply for a new card from the same bank as a current card, they can look at your account history to see what's happening.

I have perhaps 6 cards I cycle through depending on benefits specials, and have never carried a balance in my 16 year credit history. I've never been denied credit.

Jon Krumdick from US Alliance took care of me. Im now the proud owner of a Model S! In the end, I got approvals from three banks. But Jon was the only one who stopped and looked closely at my finances. The other banks just ran me through a computer and called it a day. So thank you Jon!!

Here is a picture of my baby :D

[Looks real nice Alex! It was a pleasure to assist! Let me know if you have any other financial needs I can assist with. Jon K.]

If I could pick any color I would be torn between the silver or gray. I haven't seen many in silver but it looks great, good choice!

Does anyone know if the rates are still in the 1.5-2% range?

I was in between gray and silver too. I had a little remorse after seeing a gray one drive by. But now that I have my car I have no regrets. I parked next to a gray one yesterday and comparing the two I definitely think I made the right choice

Coming from one vet to another, I have heard of people getting targeted with stuff because they go after military (and their lack of knowledge being young and stupid) and get people really messed up. Especially at training locations and deployments. I was stationed at Camp Lejeune for a while and they frequently gave us briefings to warn us away from the dealerships (especially for used cars) around the area and that unless you were buying new to drive to the next city over.

I haven't heard about credit card schemes getting people, may perhaps you might disclose the bank that totally screwed you over so I can make sure to avoid that one. The one that I always use is Navy Fed (I think in all my time with them I have only heard of one person "claiming" they were screwed by this bank) and in my experience it has been the best bank I have ever dealt with. Every time I make a financial decision I still shop around to see what others will offer and end up somehow back with Navy Fed for the deal because they still have the best rates. (I also hear only positive things about USAA)

As far as Credit cards, I am by no means trying to push you into it (if you don't feel comfortable, by all means, stay away), but I have had a credit card with them for 7 and a half years and never once been mischarged, cheated, crazy fees, etc, and in fact in my really early days when I only had a 1k credit limit, I pushed over that amount and never got an over the limit fee. I get the best interest rates with them over anyone else (and I have checked) not that I carry a balance. Anyway, just saying. I know you had a bad experience, but there is good use for a card.

anyway, my two cents, enjoy your car!

Lol, I know that speech all to well. I was stationed in 29 stumps for a little over a year.

It was CapitalOne. They didn't really screw me, I just never got a benefit from having a card with them. After being with them for 3 years I found out that they weren't reporting ANY of my credit history. So it never did anything for my credit which was the reason I had it in the first place, lol. Then when I was in Iraq they charged me a ton of fees for NOT using the card. The Justice Department stepped in on that one.

My uncle swears by them. I haven't opened an account with them yet. Primarily because they're located 3 hours away from me.

This entire experience has push me back into using my credit more. I'm actively looking for a credit card now.

enjoy your car!

I've only had the car for 5 days and I've already broken 1,000 miles on the odometer... I think I'm in love, lol. Here are more pictures :D
