Is 35xxx a low VIN? Should I be worried this is a reject (I don't think it is, just wanted to get the consensus of the cognoscenti)
Anybody know when the v2 rear seats were introduced? 20xxx?
VIN to VIN comparison is meaningless and is intentionally scattered to avoid the public from making obvious predictions that impact projections. With that said, a specific VIN can be tied to a date, it just isn't valuable to compare to other VIN's and think you're getting an older car. This is wrong.
You should be able to reliably infer changes (such as v2 seats) from the date of your car, which can be looked via your exact VIN. However they have not produced v1 seats for months -- so I wouldn't even bother.

And yet according to the VIN decoder document with digit 8 being a B, it’s a Dual Motor - Standard. Which should put the nail in the coffin that the motors are identical between AWD and P. Hopefully that means insurance companies won’t pay attention to the difference either and have a premium penalty for a P
.
I'm proud to represent VIN 556xx. Just got word of the VIN and waiting for delivery in about a few weeks.
Not in the wild yet, but I was assigned 640XX yesterday - they told me it just finished production. Delivery is scheduled for 8/24.

In Littleton, CO today there were multiple Performance Model 3’s without the Performance accessories upgrades. They all had Aero wheels and were Multi Coat Red and Solid Black. Highest VIN was a MCR and was 73,352. I was on the lookout for my friend who is taking delivery for his P3D+ MCR with White Interior on Thursday. All 4 cars were 70,000+ for VIN. Highest I had seen. Wish I had gotten a photo but can go back tomorrow if you I need to.

Saw a P3, at the Littleton CO service center awaiting delivery, with a VIN of 74,3XX. Silver with white interior and the performance upgrade package.
Having seen that white strip on the dash for the first time, I agree with those who think it would have been better to stay with the wood.

Our 75,XXX Model 3 VIN was just assigned. Picking it up next week. Not quite "in the wild" (until next week).

Supposedly the VINs are not sequential (they use different batches at different times) so it is hard to know. Hopefully they are telling you the truth.
