How much is a new battery?

Assume you somehow damage the battery or it goes too low after warranty, how much would it be to have a new one put in?

How much the battery and how much the work to change it?

20 hours!!!!!! That's surprising. Seems like Richrebuilds dropped batteries in and out no problem.. unless they're not swapping the entire tray, and actually replacing the bricks one by one. Or maybe the whole battery doesn't drop out clean in the 3 like in the S.

The procedure is actually a bit more involved. Model S was designed for hot swapping, Model 3 is not.

It was due to damage not degradation.

It's quite expensive, but there was already the guess that the battery is the most expensive single part in the car.

Wouldn't insurance cover it assuming it was damaged? Not saying to go damage it, but it wouldn't be very hard. There are things on the road all the time.
