HPWC with automatic plug/unplug

There was a casual mention of the ability for the car+HPWC to plug/unplug itself each night during one of the press conferences a bit back. At the time it wasn't clear to me whether that was a joke or a serious feature to be delivered in, heh, Elon's lifetime.

Have there been any more recent mentions of this potential feature for Model S?

No but I've been tempted to try and build my own robot arm to do it. All it'd take is an arm with 3 axis of rotation fitted with a holder designed to hold the HPWC plug, two cameras to find the charge port on the car (I'm presuming too cameras to give it stereo vision to make determining angles of the charge port easier but you might be able to get away with one) and either a radio transmitter to trigger the door or an actuator to press the button on the HPWC plug. The rest is just software. NA/Japanese cars should be easier since the indicator ring provides its own light to find the charge port plug.
