I-84 — Pacific NW to SLC

Not yet, but I'll make it a hobby. I live in Boise, so I'll start looking around and probably check out Baker City, too.

I don't know how much precision Tesla puts into its Coming Soon pins, but if you squint at the Boise locaton, it looks like it might be in the part of I-84 that runs east-west in Meridian. For Baker City, we've had good success in the past watching the Oregon Building Permits Database, so I'd keep an eye on that before you go scouting.

Take a look at the map in my post creating this thread, I-84 — Pacific NW to SLC. By the time you blow up the Tesla map and overlay it on a Google Map, the Tesla icons get pretty fuzzy. It's good enough to identify city/town location, but not much more. Keep an eye on permits...

I took some time a couple-three weeks ago and covered all of the permits for Baker City between Thanksgiving last year and the 20th of March. I'll try forward of that and see if I get a hit.

There is still hope...the I-84 chargers are on the 2015 map...
Yes - and it could always be a mistake by the person adding the 4 new station opening to bring the total to 423, working from older source data missing the "Coming Soon" updates, and uploading that. Obviously the state of the map does not change the state of reality, but it has been nice to think that the two are related.

But, until Baker City or Pendleton or Richland go in, the closest SC to me is almost 300 miles away, and both of those reachable by any amount of drastic driving are in directions I rarely go, or at least far past the places I go in those directions - North and East. So my Tesla remains based at home, destined not to roam, and I have to take one of the trucks to go visit my daughter in SLC, or mother in NM.

But, it is sure fun on those 85-mile round-trips into town!

There are several of us that would like to see SC locations on I-84 in the future.

In the mean time, did you see that Boise now has a HPWC location on the find us (Destination charging) page ?

Actually, I did, thanks; I remember because I was kind of laughing to myself when I first saw it about the futility of having it, when there is no way to GET to Boise in the first place, unless you are towed in! Can't drive up from Tremonton, or down from Ritzville/Ellensburg/the Dalles, so it can only be used by locals or those willing to stop and charge for as many hours as they drive at RV parks, etc...I remain confident that we'll have the SCs needed to service this corridor, just want it now, or preferably yesterday :)

Good grief. I had found out about Oxford Suites on Entertainment Dr. LAST YEAR becoming a destination charging site. They had the two Tesla HPWC there on site at the hotel already in December, and they told me they expected to have them installed by the end of January. Well they STILL have not gotten them installed, and how ridiculous is this that a different hotel becomes the first destination charging place months after Oxford Suites has had the chargers there?

The grey "opening soon" pins are back!
Well, now I don't know what to think, as two of my computers are not showing the pins and one is - this is after clearing the cache for images. Not supposed to happen that way...OK, I installed a new browser I've never used before and browsed to the site and...the pins are NOT in. Hmmm. It's almost like they have multiple content servers which are not synched...

I think that if you use the link without the date qualifier, you get the latest version of the map. In addition, when I do Photoshop overlays, I use these maps for the highest resolution. Here are the links to "Today," "2015," and "2016" maps:

Today - http://www.teslamotors.com/.../today-northamerica.jpg
2015 - http://www.teslamotors.com/.../2015-northamerica.jpg
2016 - http://www.teslamotors.com/.../2016-northamerica.jpg

So Robert's link does not show the pins, but the Today link from Cottonwood does - at least on computer #1. I am going to be going by Pendleton later this week; I will snoop around a bit and see if I can find a site physically under construction - near exit 216 ;-)

WildHorse Resort and Casino in Pendleton

OK, couple things. First, in case you hadn't seen this thread. Someone has really strong word that Wildhorse Casino in Pendleton Oregon will be hosting one.
Supercharger — Pendleton, OR

So, I contacted the management there to ask, and yes indeed, it's confirmed -- scheduled to open by September, but they're hoping it will actually be somewhat sooner than that. The website is:

YeeHaw! :)
