Thanks for the reply , as I say I was asking about whether there are companies that specialise in Tesla insurance. Obviously they would get my details if there is one.
No worries, thanks again
There is in the US but its only available to people in California at this time. Tesla has its own insurance company but the scope is very small. Other than that, while there are no companies that specialize in teslas there ARE companies that seemingly dont want to be bothered with them, at least in the US.
Unfortunately, the only way to find that out is by getting a quote from them. At least in my situation, even with no tickets / accidents, etc, I found a large spread in price between insurance companies on a yearly rate for my model 3. I am talking SEVERAL hundred dollars difference, yearly with "several" being "more than 600 dollars".
Maybe its different where you are, but you will see who wants to insure a tesla and who doesnt by the pricing they come back with. Again in my case, I had an insurance company I had been with for more than a decade, that also insured my home (as well as both my and my wifes cars) and also an umbrella policy, and they were the highest to insure my model 3 by over 600 more than the one I chose, which was NOT the cheapest, but also a well known company).
I told them I keep all my insurance together, so they were going to lose me for everything if I swapped my car, and they basically said "sorry to hear that", we have attached all the discounts you qualify for to your quote.
So, basically, you will find out when you quote around who wants to insure a tesla and who doesnt.
