I have a 2023 Model 3 RWD built in Fremont in December, and I just discovered that it has a 980 motor. Is that normal? I thought Tesla were only using 980 in the Performance and were using 990 or 1780 in the cheaper cars?
More specifically, it’s the 3D1 variant of the 980 motor.
The Boost LFP module increases the performance of the Tesla Model 3 SR+ with the 980 motor and the LFP battery. Compatible with : Tesla model 3 SR + with the 980 motor Not compatible with : LFP battery and/or 990 motor / Tesla Model 3 LR RWD You'll be able to reduce 0-60 MPH by 0.6 secondes...
You throw that in as if its not relevant, but that aftermarket / non Tesla module is not at all relevant for any 2023 RWD tesla model 3 in the US since they all have LFP batteries now.
Its only relevant for older SR+ cars, and since this thread was about 2023 model year RWD Teslas, that makes that part not relevant to anyone with that car.,
