Is there a way to 2 button reset without the wipers going nuts? EOM

Does this happen to anyone else? I look like dork each time I need to reset when stopped at lights and it is 80 outside without a cloud in the sky.

On the few occasions I've rebooted on the move, never had any wiper action.

Are you touching the left stalk by accident?

Hitting the buttons on the ends of the left and right stalks instead of the two scroll wheels on the steering wheel, perhaps?

Elon's head should pop up on the screen telling you you're pushing the wrong buttons. That would be a real easter egg.

Never had this happen on X or 3. On the 3 the voice command prompt comes up, that’s all.

Try disabling Auto Wipers before resetting. I had that happened to me when I had Auto Wipers enabled.

Not doing it wrong. I hardly ever use wipers and don't have auto wiper enabled. I'm telling you, 90% after the screens go blank, they go nuts for about 30 secs and then settle down.
Why do I need to do it so often? Freekin 12.1.2. In 5 years years of owning Teslas - this is the buggiest experience I have had. I'm starting to think I may need to have some diags done.

Sounds like it. That's a pretty major bug if your windshield wipers start going without touching the stalk in any way. I'd guess you might have a defective stalk assembly - the usual symptom is bad turn signal performance, but maybe you've got a different problem. Call service!
