KFC Goulburn fast charging

They are happy to slap their stickers on everything, but then when people complain to them that "their" charger is down it's all "this is not our charger, contact the owner".

And this is why I prefer SuperChargers.

No fingerpointing. No "we just handle the billing". No "the spare part is out of stock at Tritium for 3 months" etc etc.

They just work. And if they don't, they are treated like critical infrastructure and fixed very quickly.

Chargefox needs to decide what they want to be. A billing backend only, or a charging provider.

Umm, they did decide. They sold off all their chargers months ago. They're now just a backend provider. Their logos are on everything because people need to know which app to open to start a charging session.

I think I'm right in saying that Chargefox is also responsible for receiving and logging faults reported by customers? Haven't used one for a while though.

If that's the case then they need to tone down the logos - or handle complaints better.

A small one next to the QR code (which will open the correct app anyway) would be enough to answer the "which app" question. Leave the major branding to the owner if they don't want to be responsible for the chargers.

Isn't that already the case.
A selection of Chargefox sites through the country

Yeah that's how they did NRMA too. It was good enough. They seem to have increased the branding lately.

For example look at the screenshot from that video of this new site this week. The only logos are large Chargefox logos. Front and centre on both the signs shown.

Which also describes them as "Australias largest electric vehicle charging network" - which they are apparently not?

To be clear, the only point I'm trying to get across is that they are super obtuse about reporting problems with broken chargers. Simplest thing they could do is accept the complaints and pass it on, not tell people stuck at a broken charger they need to contact the owner. Is the KFC manager going to help you?

Agreed. They're going to get the calls anyway - might as well charge their clients to handle them and pass them on!
Don't disagree with that.

And certainly with their recent videos they are looking to impose stricter uptime and maintenance requirements with hosts than they have.

(But notably some of the worst uptime sites were until recently owned by themselves)

This.

This is exactly the reason the West of Melbourne has an EV Charging hole.

They need to take it out of the hands of local councils, otherwise the infrastructure rollout becomes a “postcode lottery”

Set some federal guidelines, such that anything within the guidelines is considered complying development.

Only exceptions would require a planning process.

Similar to how NBN was implemented.
