we just returned our model S from our lease. we were very happy with the car.
however, everyone, please be aware of the following: the tires have a life expectancy of about 30k miles. this is according to tesla employees. if you have a lease for 30k miles, it follows that the normal wear and tear on the tires is 100%. it further follows that it should not be possible to have excessive wear and tear on the tires.
however, Tesla will still charge lease returners for abnormal wear and tear on the tires.
so, be prepared to shell out another $1,000 above and beyond what the lease pricing claims.
it's a bit disappointing for a company whose tech we really love.
