Yes, as instructed by the manual....Should I leave it plugged into my Tesla Wall Charger...
50% would be fine because you will not drive. Anywhere that's recommended by Tesla on the battery gauge set limit graphic from 50 to 90% is fine too....at what charge level setting?
Also, consider inflating the tires to the max on the sidewall, to prevent flat spots. (also from the manual). Deflate again to proper pressure before driving. Will garage my model y when I am away for winter. Should I leave it plugged into my Tesla Wall Charger, and if so at what charge level setting?
The manual says to expect to lose 1% per day if not plugged in.@Y If you don't plug, expect losing about 1% a week for the propulsion battery.
Because of Covid, many TMC users didn't used their car that much, including myself,The manual says to expect to lose 1% per day if not plugged in.
And to plug in during long term storage.
Yes, keep it plugged in but keep the charge low, like 50%.From the manual (emphasis by Tesla):
About the Battery
Model Y has one of the most sophisticated battery systems in the world. The most important way to preserve the Battery is to LEAVE YOUR VEHICLE PLUGGED IN when you are not using it. This is particularly important if you are not planning to drive Model Y for several weeks. When plugged in, Model Y wakes up when needed to automatically maintain a charge level that maximizes the lifetime of the Battery.
Yep. I didn’t drive for 3 weeks and only lost 3% during that time. Sentry was off.Because of Covid, many TMC users didn't used their car that much, including myself,
and reported losing about 2% to 3% after 2 weeks, when park inside a garage.
Ideally leave it on jackstands, but yea, not everyone has that luxuryAlso, consider inflating the tires to the max on the sidewall, to prevent flat spots. (also from the manual). Deflate again to proper pressure before driving.
