Lost the 2nd keycard before trading in to Tesla

I’ll be trading in my 2018 M3 dual motor to Tesla for a 2023 MYP and when I filled out the questionnaire about the condition, I said there were 2 keys

Of course, when I looked, I can’t find the 2nd key.

Will Tesla adjust my trade in value? Or should I go to the service department beforehand and buy a $35 new key?

If I guess, Tesla would heavily penalize you for any listed but missing item, so it won't be a simple $35 penalty but much more than that.

So I agree with you to proactive replace it on your own.

I don't think Tesla would mind if you tell them the 2nd card is missing. But if they insist, you can leave them the 2nd card (deactivated) from your new MYP.

Agreed. I suspect they could care less if that second card was there. These are not 200$ key remotes it’s a 5$ plastic card.

as an update - i didn't need to buy another card or give them one of my MYP keycards. they were ok with just one keycard. I spend about 30 minutes searching my house last night trying to find it. blah.
