Looks like Cuencame Supercharger (proximity of Torreon, Mexico) is starting the “going online” process.
Construction cone or live? @Chuq @Big Earl

OK, not just Mexico, but surely the Monterrey Gigafactory means that Tesla will be more enthusiastic to get a Supercharger between San Antonio, TX and Laredo, TX (like in Dilley, TX) as well as between Monterrey, NL and Laredo, TX, so that there aren't two large gaps on the direct route between factories.

I met a fellow driver at the McAllen TX Supercharger in October 2022 and he had driven up from Puebla, Mexico. At this time, he said that supercharging was free in Mexico even with his Model 3. Does anyone have any confirming information on this quirk?

That ended recently. It’s no longer free. Last time I checked it’s about 8.10 MXN/kWh which is on par with prices in US.

Pretty quiet as far as new superchargers. I thought the Monterrey factory would spawn a series of new supercharger announcements in Mexico. They definitely need a solid and reliable corridor down the west coast from Mexicali to Mazatlan and Guad. Weird.
Yes, prach on that. Mexico's west coast is a SC desert (just Ensenada). i was in Tijuana yesterday and I had to leave earlier due to having a low battery and zero charging choices in Tijuana.

Just pulled into El Centro east bound on fumes, well under 0% charge (predicted 15% so don't blame me), not a lot of options out here in the desert, interestingly PlugShare showed a charger just across the border in Mexico, but no road there.

So close but yet so far.

Someone posted needing an escort to get from Hermosillo to Obregon, and then later stated they were a diplomat - of course you are going to need an escort, you are a government official. Yeah it happens, so driving during the day is smart. I also feel like Teslas are not really targeted because you can A. easily track them and B. they are a pain in the ass as a stolen car if you don't know the complex charging logistics in MX. Or maybe they are more of a target if people think you have money? Who knows, really.

I've done the drive in my Model 3 twice now from Phoenix all the way to Alamos, which is a little "Pueblo Magico" south of Cuidad Obregon. It required a lot of planning. The supercharger in Santa Ana was awesome, but then the gap between there and my final destination, Obregon, was a pain. I definitely had to stop in Hermosillo and use a destination charger. The Fiesta Americana hotel in Hermosillo let me park the car overnight for free, plugged in. So did the one in Obregon, but I tipped the security guard like 200 pesos for keeping an eye on it. The Todos los Santos resort in Alamos did not let me plug in unless I was a guest, even if I had lunch there. So it's hit or miss. Always have your basic charger on you in case you need to plug into someone's house and wait like 24 hours 🤷‍♀️ I've had to do that a few times out there.
