3. Haven't seen the inside, but there is an electric motor you can see mounted on the caliper and can hear it whirl when engaging and disengaging. The owner's manual states that the parking brake cannot be disengaged if you loose electrical power.

Oh good point didn't think of that. So this makes me have two other questions. 1) Does the Model 3 have terminals for a 12V car battery (to jump it) like the model S? And if so I wonder if this would allow for you to disengage the parking break.

That's pretty close to impossible. :p Although it'll feel kinda weird and a bit scary when the regen isn't there, regen braking isn't strong enough that it's working for OMG OMG NEED TO STOP situations. What happens, roughly speaking, is you'll catch your breath a little as you use your actual brake pedal.

The easy way to get a sense of how this is after a couple weeks of driving 1-pedal go back to an ICE. That'll give you the willies good, and then you'll be ready for it.

....or keep an eye on the battery level so you don't assume you'll have that added resistance when letting off the pedal. Seems kind of hazardous.

Not the battery, the available regen level is indicated as a bar across the top of the screen. The reason to watch this is the regen in reduced in cold weather, as well. Ideally that's normally going to be what triggers lower regen, as others have pointed out taking state of charge (SOC) to 100% should be rare and reserved for things like road trips where you want to be a very long leap between chargers at the start of the day.
