Recently took our car off hold (12/19), and seeing EDD for February 22 - March 22. Originally we put the car on hold because the delivery dates were during a week both my wife and I were out of town. Fingers crossed for a positive update!

Location: South Florida
order: M3 LR White / Black Interior / 19”

OD: 11/26
Original EDD: TBD
Vin assigned: 12/8
UPDATED EDD: 12/17-12/20
Placed on hold 12/15 since we were out of town those days and honestly didn’t expect the car to arrive so quickly
Removed Hold: 12/20
CURRENT EDD: 2/22-3/22

We’re financing through Tesla (WF) and not trading in a car.

With a bunch of people waiting for January. I bet there’s going to be a long wait for us. I’m sure they’re getting rid of most of the cars for December 2021. So the majority of January deliveries are probably going to be built in January. I was told if you don’t have a hold for December you will get your car in December

Shocking and shaking....
My OD 12/05 KS M3LR MSM black 18'
First EDD: Feb 1 - March 1
Second EDD : Jan 11 - Feb 8
Still waiting for other things and I am taking delivery in Kansas and registering it in NJ

My friends Story from NJ
OD 12/07 NJ same as my trim
First EDD : Jan 12 - Feb 9
Second EDD: December 23 - December 27
He got VIN today early morning and was asked to pick date for delivery.
He isn't ready for taking delivery as he hasn't started loan process and thought it would be somewhere in middle of Jan.

Any suggestions to hold the car for till Jan 1-2, to take advantage of BBB(hope) and getting loan and other stuff ready.

I think you will have a hard time holding until January. Unless your 3 day delivery window takes you into January (I've only ever seen one person with that so far), they will likely give your VIN to someone else who will take delivery in December so they can put the sale on their books for this year.

My suggestion is to call or message your SA and just tell them the truth that you don't want to pick up the car this year just in case a bill is passed with the EV tax credits. Ask them what the best way is to make sure you still get your car as early as possible in January. There's no need for anything else when the truth will suffice.

Well as of a few minutes ago I’m officially getting the run around. VIN and appointment has disappeared off the app. Sales Associate contacted me via text saying “Reaching out to notify you of a transit issue involving your vehicle that resulted in us having to remove the vehicle from your name. You have been prioritized for the next available car matching your configuration”. No new date set for delivery, along with non-responses. To add a bah-humbug, Tesla made made me cancel holiday plans forcing the 12/27 delivery date.
Completely hosed by Tesla screw up now. Car “got accidentally re-assigned” or “lost” (despite it having GPS). They put me on a “priority list” to get reassigned a vehicle and VIN, but can’t guarantee anything until January or Feb 2022. What a crock of BS. That’s not a priority, thats a ”we f‘d up and are just putting you back in line“. Yet they’re suggesting keeping my down payment! I said heck no, refund that asap and I’ll bring a cashier check when you have the car at delivery center. They literally bait and switched me. Plus, I sold my car to me their initially forced 12/27 delivery date. Crooks.

Between Elon’s option exercise for his tax bill, and tesla treating customers like this, I get screwed twice on Christmas.

Yeah, sometimes dealing with Tesla can feel like that. I myself had a horrible experience initially buying my first Model 3 and had lots of QC issues with my very early car (one of the first 10k made). And don't get me started about Elon's misleading promises about delivery dates and Full Self Driving back then. Those were expensive lessons for me.

But as frustrated as I was about those things here I am waiting for my new Model 3. Why? Because the car really is that fun to drive, reliable, efficient and is just plain a better value than every other electric car out there. It's a better value than every gas powered car too with similar performance and no gas car comes close when it comes to cost of operation or ease of maintenance.

Maybe if BMW's i4 turns out to be as good as it looks next year I'll switch. But for now Tesla's cars (not the company) have earned my business.

I finally talked to a real person yesterday after sending texts to my Tesla Team, My original delivery date for my car was 12/27 and a few days ago I got a text that the car was going to be delayed until the 29th, I thought OK maybe if I could push this past the 1st I still might get lucky with the tax credit thing if they push something through, A day after that I get another text saying it was going to be delivered to the dealer on the 30th and would be available for delivery on the 31st, Now I am thinking this is great! I can just tell them I will be out of town until the 1st and I will schedule my pickup after that, Then I got the phone call from a real person, He told me that if the car is available for delivery on the 31st I must take delivery that day or they would assign my car to someone else and but me back in line for the next shipment, He tells me that its all about 4th quarter numbers and they will be delivering cars at until midnight on the 31st, Now I have to hope for another delay if I want to take delivery after the 1st, This is kind of stressful.
