Model 3 - LR AWD Waiting Room

After reading this, I tried to get some information. My EDD was saying September. I talked to someone who said in their internal system they are seeing mid august. She even went so far as to say I should be behind the wheel of my vehicle in 3 weeks with a vin 1st or 2nd week of august. I mean that would be great and at least it’s not them going off the account edd which is unreliable. Ordered 6/11
Since we are in Utah, I would assume you and I would get our cars around the same time even though you ordered after I did. If everything is true, we both will get behind the wheel of our brand new M3's by third week of August! We might even see each other picking it up at the same time if our delivery dates are the same!

did you get a RN on your inventory order by any chance, or did you immediately get a TV agreement and VIN?
I snagged one from inventory and as soon as I paid the $100, I got the Vision agreement and now the car shows up in my acct with a real VIN. My SA is looking to transfer my financing details to the new car tomorrow. It freaks me out seeing 2 $50k+ cars in your account at once!

Lucky you, I definitely bought one from inventory (Cleveland OH), paid with Apple Pay on the site and immediately got an email with a reservation number. I even still have the links I went to so I know for a fact I did everything correctly. Either something is temporarily messed up on their end, or the car never existed and it just created a reservation for me for a car with the same config. I called tesla, they said someone would have to call me back, I called my local sales center and they said an advisor would have to call me back. So I have no idea what is going on. I am pretty sure though I am not getting this car, but they better not give me any talk about how they “cannot refund the $100 order fee” .

SA confirmed the vehicle arrived at their location, so good to go for tomorrow morning. Extremely excited!

Need to tire myself out so I can pass out tonight, like a child on Christmas.

YOU AND I BOTH! Tesla called me today to confirm the appointment - I asked if the car was in town, he said yup it's just being prepped for pickup tomorrow. I'm gonna need a couple cups of chamomile tonight.

I also purchased a screen protector, new aero cap kit, and a suction cup to remove the center cap on Amazon today. All 3 products are expected to arrive tomorrow with the free prime 1 day shipping. Also, the 14-50 adapter "being sent cross country" issue I was having with FedEx finally came back into town and the expected delivery changed to tomorrow by end of day.

Isn't it amazing how all these things are falling into place so fast? Enjoy the wait everyone, the excitement can be a bit overwhelming.

Every time you post, I send my Tysons SA another message, which goes ignored.
Today I've sent two emails, two text messages, and chatted with a Tesla.com agent in an attempt to pickup tomorrow instead of Sunday.
So far, no replies lol.

that's unfortunate, while my SA doesn't ever have good news for me, he is very responsive (highland park, IL is where I placed the order but he works out of the city location). I have his cell, a group cell that includes delivery specialists and his desk line.

Hah, well I'm really hoping Sunday is indeed the day for you. I'm shocked I got a response and confirmation! Figured my robocall was going to be it. See if you get one of those tomorrow morning (mine was around 9 a.m. today, I think?).

Someone else from McLean just e-mailed saying "you should have delivery tomorrow by 8 p.m." (my window is 10 a.m. to noon, so that'd be "fun") and a mess of other info, some broken image links, and info we've all read before. I love that you don't have to be present for delivery- who the heck is going to do that? Yeah just leave it wherever, nbd.

Can't tell if I should post more or less to better help your chances! Which SA have you (not) been in contact with? That place could have 100 employees or five; neither would surprise me.

Just had Tesla call me back, it was a “System Error” on their end that opened that VIN up for purchase, it supposedly had been assigned to someone since 7/23. It is comforting that Tesla just creates and order / reservation for you instead of erroring out and telling you that car is not available. I asked if they would refund my $100 order fee and she said she would “check with her supervisor”….. really, for an error on their side that caused me to be charged in the first place.

Out of curiosity, did you call the delivery location to get this info? Or the corp #?
Corporate, I can’t find the number for my local delivery center. Just ask them to use their tool and a more administrative view. If your order is a month or more old, they can probably give you a more detailed answer.

that would be awesome man! But yeah I would assume we might be in the same batch. We will see if we get a vin in the next 2 weeks

So today I called the delivery center(Costa Mesa) and went in person(LF) and spoke with my assigned SA.
I got 2 answers: the delivery center said they believe I won’t see my M3 until September-October and there is no other date they can see.
My SA said I should see my M3 sometime in mid to late September which is was my EDD says.

window is getting smaller!

Hmm my husband just had a great idea. I stalk the inventory page constantly watching for a silver LR - very few come up, but if they do they are so far away that its an extra $2,000. I work for an airline and we also have about a gazillion miles - so we could fly somewhere and pick one up. Does that mess you up as far as not living where you pick up or mess up you service center etc? I wouldn't think so - people move. Will they let you do that?

You can certainly travel to pick up a car. You'd just register and pay taxes to your home state.

You'd lose your original order fee unless you want two cars. Or if you have an SA who will actually match the VIN to your order. But by then the car will likely be sold already.
