No car, but at least I can sit around and pretend I had one to charge with this ...

Yes, Korean shipment beat one from 20 minutes from my house:

As a first time Tesla buyer, my takeaway from this experience is that until they are able to build some level of transparency/clarity into the delivery ETA, any future order I place will only be for a vehicle that 'exists' in inventory. I realize that there were likely some extenuating circumstances in play, but overall this has not been an enjoyable process.

Wow. That’s my spec. I’m in SoCal. So strange I haven’t got mines yet...

Do you have a date range or vin? I saw my spec a few weeks ago popping up in inventory in LA, even called the Marina DC and they said it is just showing but not really exist yet...in any case I feel like I should have placed an order at that time on it and possibly getting it faster. Currently no vin, no date, ordered 11/19, and lost 26-31 window a couple days ago

Thanks bud! For the people that are still waiting, stop emailing/texting your original "AGENT" and do whatever necessary to contact Tesla and have them follow up on your purchase. We deserve better.

Who do you mean by calling Tesla? I have now been calling the DC in the Marina basically to check in but did not get much more than "We see the order but do not know if it will be here by year end..."

I never figured there was this whole “process” when I ordered. I thought I just stumbled onto the new model year by happenstance. Other than taking every bit of 6 weeks, it’s been pretty basic and uneventful for me. I thought I’d be waiting 3-6 weeks while hearing nothing until the car was ready. Kinda neat how the whole process works if you ask me.

I never got any replies after trying to call/email my delivery center. No reply from my "AGENT" for the last 2 weeks. So what the heck, I was browsing inventory and just hit up a chat window. At least I got someone to talk to concerning my order. Then they sent me to another person via email and said they are trying to get me a VIN.

That's cool! Will that weight of the CCS plug itself plus adapter put too much weight onto the car's port itself? I was complaining about how bulky and heavy the CCS plugs are already. How much are those adapters running for?
It is not too heavy. It is too expensive. And completely unproven if it will work. This was a total I can afford to experiment for everyone's benefit purchase. Another user tried his and it did not work on a couple of different chargers with the latest Tesla software on his Model 3. Could be the new software broke this thing's software. Dialog on it on the CCS charging adapter thread.

I'll have to admit that while my assigned agent has been super responsive to emails and texts... the information she provided was pretty much useless. She never provided me with any firm dates and always said that it would be delivered 'by the end of the month'.

Eventually, I called my local Tesla Store at the mall on what I knew was her day off and spoke to whoever happened to answer the phone. That person did *something* then told me an estimate on 1) when I'd get my VIN and 2) when I'd get to pick it up.

Even after I had this info, my original agent still never provided the same level of clarity.

Considering the other agent provided those date ranges weeks before me taking delivery today, she ended up right on both counts (VIN date and delivery date).

Side note - Tesla reschedule my 12/30 mobile service after reading what I wrote and scheduled a real appt at the local service center. That'll be on 1/15... not a huge deal as my 3 issues aren't the end of the world and won't hinder my enjoyment of car in the meantime. Just hope they provide me with a loaner or something while they're doing the actual work.

Had a flawless experience from the Burbank location. Car was ready nearly an hour before my scheduled appointment, and as far as I can tell there isn't anything that requires a service center appointment. The weather really wasn't cooperative today though, rained pretty much the entire time, so i'll give the car a more thorough look over tomorrow to make sure.

Crossing my fingers for those still awaiting a VIN that you can take delivery by EOY.

Random side note, does anyone know why a level 3 super charger would max out at 52 kW? I tried 2 different stalls and both wouldn't go past about 55/56 kW.

Congrats! Beautiful! maybe cos your state of charge is pretty full? That's what causing the low charging rate.

PS did you see any RED M3P there? Might be mine LOL

I do have a date range (now Dec 28th to 31st). It changes daily...No vin yet. Ordered 11/22.

Just picked her up! I even had an escort on the way there! :D

The Uber driver was just as excited as I was when I told him where I was going. He said he owns Tesla stock although he doesn't own a car.

Looked the car over and didn't see any issues. Panel gaps seemed fine. Car was only charged up to 75% though . Have the old headlights but don't mind. My VIN started with 862. Tesla was nice enough to not attach the front plate. I think I'll buy a license plate holder that attaches to the grill for a better look.

Put winter tires on it immediately when I got back. Waiting for the "Tesla" center caps and gray lug nut covers that I ordered so not looking hot right now. Got 18" Replika R241 in gun metal with Continental VikingContact.

First congratulations on the car. Next, supercharging depends on a lot. Temps, and current soc along with battery temp plays the biggest role when it comes to v3 charging. So what was your current soc when you plugged in? To see the 250kw you need to have a hot battery and very low soc. Like below 10%. I’m guess you were around 60% or higher when you plugged in. The battery could have been cold as well. Which will lower you soc. So a little more info and we can help you out. Are you sure you were at a v3 supercharger? It could have been a urban supercharger which only outputs 72 kw max

It's a bit of a gamble on how they're going to handle the buyout. The announcement was that they'll add the option to all existing leases.

The mischievous side of me wants to know how they're handing the buyout. Based on the current lease terms, I'm leasing the car as if it has a pretty high level of depreciation (~40%?) over the 3 years. If the align the buyout with that assumption then it could be a good proposition for a potential flip in the end. But they might take the chicken way out and allow a buyout at market, in which case you should just dump the car because the cost to lease + full market buyout makes it a really bad deal to own via that route.

Oh nice! 2015 C2S, means you had a 991.1! Very nice car, very fast! Also, the last NA for mere mortals who can't afford GT cars. My 2015 was a vanilla C2, so I was really happy when I jumped in 2018 to the 991.2 C2 with the new twin turbo engine to get to some of that torque. C2S (or GTS) is probably the best trim level... I'm not worthy!!!

M3P torque blows both of my 991's away for 0-60. Pics of my new (M3P) and old (991.2) attached. :)

Yes! C2S white and black wheels, just like my model 3 order haha. They are fun cars, but not as torquey as the V8’s I’ve owned hence the interested in an EV.

I think their residuals is 54% on a 36m/10k? Buy out at market rate would be insane, never heard of any company doing that but then again it is Tesla. If there is some sort of buyout option I would be more interested in leasing since we can hedge our bets pretty much. Also to save on CA sales tax since we don’t get trade in credit. These cars do seem to hold value well, but might be partly due to them cornering the used market for now. If they start aggressively selling used Model 3s then it may be a different story.

Agreed. Very weird process. I *almost* miss working with a dealership. No one knows whats going on with Tesla!

Looks great! I want to put 18” on mine too for going on ski trips etc. I heard only certain kinds of wheels clear the performance brake.
