If it was me. I'd do it just to wind up the forums. It doesn't seem to take much.

Really...confirmed? Note that the center display is also covered in the car (seen from some of the other images not posted here). Is that new, too?

Given how many wires are taped on the car (including on the outside). This may be a different development/testing vehicle, that may have things that might not make it to production (we have seen some of that for the Model S). Covering something like that makes sense.

Maybe because these particular Engineers felt like they wanted to cover up the interior?

    This doesn't mean much.

Why else would they cover it up?

Simple answer. They want to wait until the reveal to show the buttons/scroll wheels on the steering wheel.. Jumping to any conclusions that this confirms the HUD is just silly. Plus they like to drive forum members crazy:)

    1. They etched their initials
    2. They forgot to bring a windshield sun block
    3. A Special Edition Pink will be offered
    4. The case was wrinkled

Feel free to add more ;-)

I think you're totally right, they love the car so much they didn't want it to get cold. Silly me for thinking otherwise...

I never said this confrms HUD. Elon already said no HUD. It means there is a steering wheel that is better designed to handle full autonomy in my opinion

Do you need a steering wheel if you have full autonomy?

Notice the missing trim in this spot (red highlight circled) it appears there is an opening for a retractable device maybe 20170610_221412.jpg ????

It's more likely that they spilled coffee on their jacket and were hanging it there to dry.

There is no elaborate prank. They're driving a car which Tesla wants to remain secretive about. They get the opportunity to know what everyone else is salivating about.

It CONFIRMS they are just covering up because they thought at the time it would be a good idea.
