Tint today! The shop used 60” wide on the rear window and said it was a biatch. Wanted to do full chrome delete, but it took them all day on the windows

...went with suntek 35% all around and on the rear panel window in one piece..70% for the windshield..posted the dash protection towels Sarkis at Acutint Pro in Upland, CA for the dash since I been reading some scared to tint without the proper protection..he created a knot rope attached to microfiber towel..check out his IG for other model 3s he has done with different tint levels..AcutintPro 909-226-6262 (@acutintpro) • Instagram photos and videos

...i went to a few tinters who had llumar, solar guard, dub ir and 3m..went with Sarkis seeing his work with other cars..didnt go with other tinters due to the moment they see the back window they started making up prices and them not specializing in tint..most tinters do stereo systems and other random stuff..Sarkis also has boxes and boxes of 60" ready..no waiting for the tint to come in..

is the roof

did you tint the roof above the driver?

I did. In one of these tint threads, I posted pictures. It's really dark. I did 35%. You lose that open feeling. But my personal feeling was that if I didn't do the rear in one piece, that line separating the tinted part from the nontinted part was too jarring. So I did the whole rear window in one piece and did the moonroof area to match.

Some people claim they can see fine with limo tint.

Personally, anything lower than 30% degrades my visibility too much at night. But, I scan constantly for cops and stuff so I'm looking for details. Maybe they just look and if they can still see a headlight, that's good enough to tell them something is there. 20% wouldn't be too bad, but that's darker than I'd like for visibility reasons. I'd like it for privacy reasons though.

My 20% I can see through almost naturally at night, the 5% on back is very low visibility when it is dark outside. I drive with the backup cam on at night to ensure full visibility.

I'm considering 20% on the rear side windows and the rear window, but I see above that people are saying it feels really dark in the tinted area of the rear to go to 20%. I hate having a line for a partial tint job, but at the same time I don't want the rear to be too dark.

How closely does the roof glass and rear window match in darkness with that tint? If you have any pics of that.
