Model 3 Trunk Issues

View attachment 291839 My trunk is pretty stiff when closing. I also noticed the trunk supports seem to “hit” the rear windshield seals..

I just checked, mine does the same thing. It rubs the seals during its travel. It would cause some extra wear on the seals, but the edges it rubs are pretty smooth so I'm not too concerned.

I swapped out the struts on my trunk and I'm happy with the results:

The frunk on my X was very difficult to close when new. Instead of slamming it, I would push firmly with two hands above the latches and it would click closed.

After a while the seals began to compress a little and now it closes easily with just a gentle push.

11 day old car, and my problem is similar with the frunk. Trunk is perfectly fine, I don't think i close it harder than I have other cars.

Frunk is hard to close from fully open, so I end up doing the two hand push.

Will keep doing that for awhile, and then see if I can close it easier from full open.

I had the service center attempt to adjust the interference between the lifts and the seal and the best they could do is make it rub evenly on both sides. It's an improvement, but definitely still not right. I put my smaller replacement lifts back on and they don't rub at all now where they did lightly on one side before, so another reason why I'm keeping the smaller ones on there.

I took delivery of my Model 3 last week. Trunk doesn't latch. Did hard slam, adjustment, all I could. To no avail.

Going to service center now. Wish me luck

Made me look. The trunk on my Oct'18 build closes and latches quite easily and the struts just barely brush the seal at one point when closing. Nothing I would be concerned about or consider a flaw.
