@TraumaDoc I'm not sure where you looked at, but zooming into the video, they really look like USB-C. That would be cool, but at the same time, indeed, a very weird place to locate them.

It’s for the cabin security alarm. Required in some jurisdictions.

it was an add on option in the US for the S & X fir a while. Not sure if it is still there with the focus on sentry now.

Without interior sensors, Sentry is basically pointless for all but the most bullish breakins. There are tons of videos of people reaching into open cars, banging on windows, etc. without the alarm being triggered. If Tesla offers this is a retrofit to add interior sensors for the alarm, that would be lovely.

I recall reading that the interior camera would be enabled and added to sentry in a future FW update.
