Model 3 wheel Patents are complete. Which one would you choose?

I'm not convinced that's true. There's a clear seam just above the spokes if that marks the centre cap start then there's room under there for the 5 stud pattern.

Yes I like the shiny "spokes" instead of the textured one in the 1st post. This also looks like a smaller wheel, maybe the 18" instead of the 19". I think this one looks fine.

Yup, it's 18". Says so right on the tire looking at the photo.

Well, it's just a design patent for the look of a wheel. Doesn't really specify how they work, if it will be in production, etc.

Is it likely / expected that Tesla will announce how much the aero wheels would be expected to improve the vehicle's highway (and city?) efficiency and range?

I'd like to have that info before ordering. The greater the improvement, the more I'd lean towards #2.

I would pay $2,500 extra for #3 or $500 extra for #1. Any more and I will get the free aeros and put snow tires on them. Then I would buy some aftermarkets for the summer.

I'm not a fan of the silver that shows all the way round, if that is a cover like some have speculated I wish they had gone all the way to the edge.

I'm going to powder coat alloy in black so it does not show the silver edge. Might plastidip first to get a preview then go for powder coating for a more permanent solution.

Not sure what you are talking about ... the patent is on the Wheel Design. It is also a center-lock hub with a splined drive

I do like the idea of doing a plasti dip on #1. Some sort of GunMetal gray will make them look great at a hopefully even better price.
