Got a surprise call from my DS that my car is already at the Chicago service center. P6514, VIN 3287. Got a VIN on January 2 and got final paperwork to DocuSign on January 10. Signed it and wired the money the morning of January 11. Then I got the call from the DS that afternoon that my car was already in Chicago getting prepped for delivery. A pleasant surprise.

Congratulations! Looks like Tesla shipped even before you signed and paid.

Woah, really?? I'm right next to you in both sequence and VIN, and about as far from CA as well. Time to make some phone calls!

Fantastic. It's nice to see a quick turnaround. I also got my Vin on Jan 2 (#3305), and was told on Jan 9th that my car was ready, and waiting for the next available truck out of the factory. As of Friday at 6pm my car was still waiting at the factory .. grr.. it's soooo close.. The Product Specialist I've been dealing with has been wonderful though, always replying to my pestering emails/phone calls. The last time we talked she said if it stays there much longer she'll grab a truck and drive it up to Washington herself (kidding of course, but I appreciate the sentiment). On the DS side, I've yet to hear a single word from him since a month ago when he asked for my driver's license and proof of insurance.

I'm guessing mine is sitting right there next to yours queuing up for the next truck up this way. I emailed my product specialist and left a message with my DS to find out. I'll post if I hear anything new.

Not only is that possible, with my luck it's likely.. They probably are sending mine up to Bellevue (since I'm in Washington), when in fact, I'm just across the river from Portland, OR. I'll wave to my car as it drives by...

@Retinadoc My car and Aaron's are most likely traveling companions heading across the country (sequential numbers and VINs, both just waiting for a truck). I asked if mine could be delivered to the White Plains service center, and was told that it's not yet open, likely opening in Feb, so either Queens or home delivery were my choices. I went for home delivery, as they said it wouldn't be on a big 18-wheeler, but would go to the Queens service center first to be prepped, then sent with a DS to my house in Larchmont, NY. Where are you and when do you expect to get your delivery?

What a pisser. Car is in LA. I'm in Vegas. Got a call on Wed to set up home delivery on Sat Afternoon. Sat afternoon came and went. No call, no Show. Called Tesla and they said the notes said "Customer requested Sunday 1/13" OK. Not true, but mix ups happen. Today has come and gone and another No call, No Show. :( I don't mind the waiting but I am annoyed at moving schedules around for something that isn't going to happen. Tesla has had my 100K+ for 10 days and I don't have title or a car. Not very impressed. Dealership suck, and suck real bad; but the sort of delivery problems Tesla is having would not likely happen at a dealership. I don't see how it can get better, especially if they are selling more and more cars. : (

That stinks @jiaotong. I decided to do a factory pickup and drive the thing back to Las Vegas, partly to see the factory and have a little SF vacation at the same time, but also because of the delivery delays and frustrations. I just hope I can make it from Barstow to LV with the 60 kWh. I might be looking for a plug at the Taco Bell in Primm to get a few extra miles.

Hopefully yours comes soon.

As jcmason said, the White Plains service center is not quite open yet, even though I was told at the White Plains store it would be on January 1st.

It's actually not a problem, since I will be picking up the car in Queens and am supposed to drive it directly to a friends auto body shop in Brooklyn to have the front end (and full hood) wrapped (paint armor). I'm also going to have a Torklift Central Eco Hitch installed for my new Saris Freedom (hitch) bike rack - since my existing Saris rack (trunk mounted) won't fit the Model S.

It's supposed to take a day and a half to have these 2 things done! It's going to be hard to leave the car for another 1.5 days right after picking it up! I want to drive! But I know it's best to get it wrapped right away before anything happens to the front end....

Aaron

Aaron,

Did they give you the option of taking delivery at the White Plains service center?

You can get info on the Eco Hitch from the link in the previous post and here: http://www.torkliftcentral.com

The Saris Freedom Bike rack I bought is compatible with both 1.25" and 2" hitches - I bought the 1.25" Eco Hitch. Saris page: http://www.saris.com/en/bike-racks/vehicle-racks/hitch-racks/freedom.html

It holds 2 bikes quite nicely!

Aaron

Hi Aaron,
can you share the details on the bike rack? Is that a trailer hitch type that is compatible with the MS?
