Model S Delivery Dates and Sequencing

pgiralt, I think your estimate is more typical. My 60 is 15508 with a window of July 18 - Aug 1 and most of the VINs that I have seen around ours have late July deliveries. I was crossing my fingers and hoping for an early delivery since I'll be out of town (with no Internet!) July 26 - Aug 1, but with last week's retooling and this week's Euro production, I think we should expect mid-to-late deliveries within our respective windows. :frown:
It's okay. Certainly beats waiting 18 months or three years.

Any input on how close Tesla is with delivery windows for Canadians? I know it's not terribly long but I got a delivery window of August 3-17 in Vancouver, Canada.
Like I'm sure many of us, I've been stalking the MyTesla page. My status remains "Your Model S order has been confirmed" (I placed and confirmed my order on the same day at the end of June).
In case if offers any insight, my R# is RN978638
Not sure if the 17 digit VIN means anything in the context of American deliveries -- but the last 5 digits are 16225 (i'm guessing that's what people are posting as their VINs?)
Does the MyTesla page change as it enters production (eg what are the different statuses it gives?). I do recall being pleasantly surprised one day when the VIN was assigned and the page had a link to my delivery preferences and a delivery date window shown (I assume this is the "delivery button" people mention), although that series of pages seemed to be US based as it asked about Solar City, and financing which aren't available in Canada).
Again, this is definitely a "First World Problem" or even a "One Percenter's Problem" and I know most have waited much longer, but I'm like a brat before Christmas.
I've not even test driven one yet, as seems to be common for many. A $105K leap of faith....but such an exhilarating one!

We've all been there, those of us who have our cars! I don't know about Canadian deliveries, but I can tell you that my status on My Tesla page went to "your car is being built" right after finalizing and didn't change until they sent me an email with the delivery button. That was way back in April so things could be different now.
I also took a huge leap of faith and can assure you it was well worth it. In the end I'm glad I never test drove one, it made delivery day that much more exciting. Having no basis for expectations beyond what I'd read made that first day of driving my Tesla surreal in the best possible way. My only mistake was not working it out to take that day off from work. I couldn't concentrate knowing she was just sitting out there in the parking lot, waiting for me!
As torturous as the waiting seemed at the time (and yes, I know others had to wait far longer...), it was all part of the whole experience and I wouldn't have changed it. Enjoy reading and posting here every waking moment, in between checking the phone app, your email and the My Tesla page for any sign of life!

The guy on the phone said I would have a VIN within a couple days, but I wasn't expecting to see one the next morning, especially because that means the VIN popped up overnight. I guess the second shift people updated it, haha.
How are people finding out their cars are in production? I got an email from TM about 2.5 weeks ago saying my car was "entering production" and the "Delivery" button appeared on the site. Do you call to find out? Mine still says "Your order has been confirmed" although I completed the questionnaire about 2.5 weeks ago now and it said my delivery window was 7/27 - 8/10. VIN 15510.

I'm told my car is done, passed inspection, and waiting for a truck. My account still says "order confirmed." All my updates have come via my DS.
Yep, I heard from my DS for the first time today too. My appointment is 7/23 at 10am. He's going over the options, like "You could come in at 10, 11, 12... we have some appointments the following day.." and I was like "Uh... actually 10am would be great!".

I am surprised (and a little jealous) of all you folks getting delivery buttons before me.
I finalized on 6/21, and even called today to see if there is a deliver update. No button or delivery time as of yet, but the guy at Tesla said, "Stay tuned. You should have an update very soon."

That sucks. My guess is they are waiting to batch your configuration? Out of a sense of fairness I hope you will still get yours before me. You live real close to the factory and mine has to get shipped across the country.
Just got my first call from TM from my DS today. Super excited, but still have a ways to go before I get relief.....
