Model S Plaid huge depreciation

Cars are rarely a good investment. Selling a car in the first 12 months typically has a 25-30% depreciation and less in the following years. The longer you keep it the more value you get from it. There is some crazy pricing for hard-to-get EVs, with dealers sticking on $10-50K premiums over MSRP. At least Tesla doesn't do that. Used EV prices have also been unusually strong, especially at the lower end. Used Model 3/Y that are in demand are getting premium prices. Plaid, not so much.

New corvette C8 base cars selling 15-20K over sticker
Z06 dealers asking 50-70K over msrp upfront presale
It is what it is
Lol

Same, I sold my 2022 M3P for $65k to Vroom and got used Plaid for 113k. How much offer you got for your M3P?
How are you liking your plaid in comparison to M3P?

With S price drop, I am now considering SP, but have been waiting for MP3 highland.

New 3P may be extra special, according to some reviewers, since it is not yet available in the markets with the other trim levels.

LMFAO, you mean other car dealers who raises the prices weekly!!!

Legacy Car manufacturers rarely change price on each car model/design until it gets face lift or new design. But if they do, it is usually few Gs yearly!!
Think you missed the point. How often do people raise a fit when car makers Lower prices? That’s right because they don’t. Consumers angry for Lowering costs is just a bit odd to be honest.

when did you hear the last time a legacy car manufacturer (Not a dealer) lowered the MSRP mid year by 40%? people should get angry if a monopoly company like Tesla devalued their cars by 40% on top of the normal depreciation.

If you argue that Tesla as a Car should be treated like a phone or TV where it is ok to be $0 after 5 years then as people are aware of this practice and sale model will make an obvious decision between buying a car that will be 50% after 4 years or one that COULD go to 20% if the CEO wanted to boost new sale.

Finally, this is the main reason all other car companies handle this by rebates, discounted sale price not MSRP reduction because it will devalue their brand.
