Got a VIN! Not sure when exactly, can't remember when I last checked my dashboard but probably within the last 3-5 days. Delivery still says "Late September" and I haven't been contacted by a DS.

VIN: approx. 8/1 (52514)

True "no frills" package: S85, black, grey leather is only add-on (no tech, special trim, etc.)

Confirmed my order on 7/21. No VIN yet. My Tesla says the estimated delivery date is "late October". :-( I hope they're just being cautious with those time estimates. I've got a couple of day-trips coming in mid-October and I'd *really* like to take the MS.

I get that's the general advice, but there's nothing in the tech package that I actually want or need and the additional cost would make the "stretch" purchase beyond what I'm comfortable with. I keep my cars a very long time so I'm not concerned about resale. (Never understood paying $5-10,000 more for a car to get $1-3,000 more for it years down the road.)

I thought the same thing about the tech package, my wife said why would you not want it and I said its the money and she said you are buying a $85000+ car and will not spend another $3700!!! Looking back she was correct and would not want this vehicle without it. Again a very personal decision.

A got a delivery date of Sept.25 from a Jun 16th order -- looks like it takes and extra month to get the car to Canada...
