Got the email on 3/11 that my order was going into production for April delivery then got delayed due to production halt and recall.
Got notified that production started on 5/9. Here we are 16 days later and it's still "in production." I talk to my DS who is so awesome a LOT, but she gets very little info. im hoping its done soon, but now being told to expect a mid to late June delivery. Ugh.
DSs have told me from beginning if production to delivery can run anywhere from 4-8 weeks.
Super excited to get this car, but equally frustrated by delays. Do you think Tesla should do something to make up the delays to long time reservation holders? If so, what?
I'm on the fence, but curious what the groups opinions are seeing as someone that orders an X today will supposedly get it in July according to the website.
48xx. You?
Curious...Just received email, VIN 58xx in paint with delivery to FL Mid-late June from Late June earlier.
Sounds like the assembly line is speeding up a bit.
You can rent a car to do the transition. It won't last too longWow -- my MX has been out of production now for six weeks, and continues to be listed with status "factory gate routing" -- I.e. sitting in Fremont, waiting for something to happen.
My DS is mystified. He says if it failed QA and was sent back for repair or rework it would have had a different status.
Unfortunately I committed to selling my old car based on an earlier worst-case delivery estimate of mid-May.
I understand that's on me -- I probably should not have acted upon even the worst-case estimate from my DS.
But I post this not to whine but as a cautionary tale to those who are getting production completion notices and estimates: it can take months after production to even get the car in your hands!
May your experience be better than mine!

Of course I can, and that's what I am doing. I just wish they can either figure out what's going on or offer me a little more transparency to the process.
The DS even suggested the possibility that someone has lost track of the car, since other shipments have been coming east since mine was produced.

Curious...
You confirmed in December? ...but your VIN is 58xx?
I know there is no rhyme or reason as to how they are building them by VIN....but considering you confirming so early...shouldn't you have a lower VIN number?
I would lean on that DS a bit more until they talk to a supervisor in Freemont and get some answers.
How long did it take from start to the end of production? Mine supposedly started May 9th.I touched base with my DS today and he said the car has finished production and is on the way. He said he does not have a firm date for delivery yet, but it should happen before a planned vacation trip at the end of June.
Based on the reports of lots of Model Xs spotted at the SC here in Boston and on the news today, it sounds like east coast deliveries are picking up steam.
I don't hava exact dates, but on May 16 the DS said the car was "going through general assembly phase". Yesterday he said the car had completed production and was "on the way", estimating delivery before June 20, when I have a trip planned. How long did it take from start to the end of production? My DS knows nothing and it takes days for him to respond to my emails. I think the Delivery Specialist term is misleading, if you are specializing in delivering something then you need to have all the information related to that job. I do not think Tesla tells them anything.I don't hava exact dates, but on May 16 the DS said the car was "going through general assembly phase". This inconsistency on how information is relayed to customers by Tesla, even by the same crew of a given SC, is really pathetic.
Just got an email from my DS saying that my MX entered production over the weekend however, in terms of delivery timing, it is still hard to say for certain for Model X's. It is a new product and it will be hard for them to give me an estimate. They are anticipating June...
Can anyone tell me how long the production process takes on average (given there are no "issues")?
Thank you in advance!
