Possibly worth mentioning: the OP lives in San Clemente, so could make use of the local supercharger for those exceptional cases where a rapid charge is needed.You are making an assumption about people’s use cases in this statement. Yes, most people most of the time won’t need particularly fast charge speeds in order to regenerate overnight, but there are those exception cases. For some, they are willing to spend a good amount of money to cover those edge cases and not be inconvenienced. For some, the peace of mind is worth it even if never used.
Edit: I mention it because I live near a supercharger as well, and it provides the peace of mind, even though I've only used it once. Charging overnight at 32A has always been more than sufficient.
