Having spent way too much time researching lifts, the first question a potential buyer needs to ask him/herself is "Is my main use case parking a car, or working on a car?" If the former, you want a parking/wheel lift like this one (ie, ramps that you drive on). The latter, you want a frame lift (arms that swing in and lift the car from the frame/unibody).
Drive on/parking lifts are easiest and fastest for parking (drive on and lift, vs get out, align the arms, reposition the car and repeat), but not great for any work requiring removing the wheels (snow tire changeover, brake/suspension work, etc). You can make the "wrong lift" work, but it's best to get the right tool for the job.
