I was told that the MB roof rack doesn't fit Model S; Tesla will have a roof rack for sale "sometime soon".

The Delivery Specialist told me that Tesla is working with Thule on the roof rack. It should be out soon and available on Tesla's webstore.

My wife and I had a discussion. She told me not to put a roof rack on the Model S. The car is too nice. Instead when I need to move around my board or kayaks, I'll use her SUV. Then I guess she gets to drive my Model S.:crying:

Sounds like a Model X reservation is in order! ;)

Funny story. After lunch I was pulling out of my parking space and two guys waved me down from about 20 yards away. They stopped me. I rolled down the window and asked what was up. They just wanted to check the car out. They had walked by it earlier on their way to lunch and waited for me to come back to my car to ask questions. They were really excited and interested to hear it was electric. They had never heard of Tesla and were impressed it is American. So far nothing out of the normal for most Model S owners. After telling me my car was supercool, we said goodbye and I started pulling out. My passenger said to me, "did you notice those guys work for Mercedes Benz. They were wearing official Mercedes shirts."

probably never herd of maybach, smart, puch or any of those other MB involved companies either......... :)

I had a similar experience just a week after I took delivery. I had gone to the supermarket to stock up on munchies for some friends that we met on this forum and invited for a ride. As usual, I parked in the far corner of the parking lot, far from any other car that could potentially inflict damage on my new baby. As I exited the market, I noticed a guy slowly walking around my car, taking pictures with his cell phone. When I got to the car, he commented on how beautiful the car is and asked a lot of questions, some of which were quite detailed and technical. I gladly discussed all the awsome features of the car. Finally, after about 20 minutes, he fessed up and revealed that he was an engineer for Fisker! As we parted, I secretly offered him my condolences........

The salesman at MB who sold my wife her last two cars practically begged me to bring in the car once I took delivery, and a mechanic there also asked me to bring it by once he heard I was getting one. They are genuine car guys, and were excited to hear about it, and as they pointed out, Tesla isn't much competition for them (yet) -- they do 20,000 sales in a month.

I know this not a delivery story... but a pre- delivery story. I didn't find another treat for this.
My daughter is some years photo model and I'm a painter-Designer. There is a light box for years in my living room with pictures of my daughter that I occasionally change. As soon as the prices are known for Europe and I have decided to continue the order, I would like to change the picture in a different model! until I have received the real one. I hope that I don't get too much opposition from the home front. Because they don't know it yet about these models switch. Here the current image and the future one (this has a size of 120 cm x100cm and have a lit behind). so I can look at it from out of my chair. O ... If there are people interested in another model, then the S: here the link where my daughter (Shari) can be booked for photo shoots.

P01364 delivered 12/1/12
Only green known in So Cal, but after finally seeing it in person, I suspect the popularity will increase!
P85, silver 21 wheels, removed the carbon fiber rear wing, twin rechargers.

Tan interior with obeche wood gloss, tech package.
Rear seats and Parcel Shelf on 'due bill'. :cursing:

Destined to have Al & Ed's get their hands dirty on this one as I did on my Roadster
