Uhhh i got a TEXT message (with typos) from my Sales person today as the first ever contact, pretty underwhelmed.

He said my vehicle was ready for pick-up in "Marina del ray" on 9/23 but didn't provide a VIN. Unfortunately i can't take delivery just yet as Tesla is still waiting for parts to repair my trade-in, so i will have to delay.

PS - I ordered my MSM P3D+ not even a week ago on 9/16.

Strange turn of events for me today. My wife got contacted (her first contact from Tesla), by a DS from Fremont, with a proposed delivery to our home early next week. I have no idea why they would offer this service in Chicago, considering that I'm like 30 minutes away from either of the locations, but she went along with it - figured maybe they're trying to make up for the missed delivery appointments at the store. They reassigned the VIN, the same one as before, and sent an updated MVPA with the tax rate changed by 0.25%. I guess the first copy was typed incorrectly, and the new one has the correct tax rate. We called back to confirm delivery to our home, and they offered an even earlier date of 9/22. Considering that this is the fourth time they've rescheduled delivery, and that it came directly from Fremont in an email that looks like it wasn't a standard template, I'm cautiously optimistic that it might happen this time. Maybe it really did get caught up in the rail-yard, or maybe our IDA was overzealous on her first few attempts.

For now, I'm actually really glad that they didn't have to hunt down a new VIN for us. I'm curious how home delivery works if you inspect it before handing them the money and reject it..."nah, this ain't the one, get it outta my driveway" haha. Hopefully it all goes well and we get to enjoy the weekend in it :)

Ordered red P3D with performance upgrade on Sunday 9/16. Got an email today that I can schedule delivery for as soon as this Saturday 9/22, or basically any time after that. Wow.

Note that I live in Fremont, but still, wasn't expecting less than a week to deliver, I'm not ready!

I have a signing bonus and some other stuff coming up: I'll have at least $30k cash coming in ~October-November, which was going to be my downpayment. But now that I know a car will likely be ready much sooner, I'm torn on how to best approach this. I have great credit, not worried about getting approved for any size loan.

Take delivery with a bigger loan, and make a big principal payment soon? Take delivery with a bigger loan, and then refinance using the lump sum? Push delivery all the way back (so hard to imagine now that I know I could be driving it sooner, but maybe the most responsible choice)? Pushing back also risks interest rates rising further, but at the expense of a bigger loan up front.

Anybody been through anything similar?

Somewhat similar but for a different reason and I pushed. Tesla told me that it could take up to 8 weeks to rematch and they will call me Nov 10. I think they will still be pumping cars out to deliver until EOY so I think you would be okay with a push.

My issue is I am having a house built set to close in December. I ordered Monday and received a call Tuesday saying my vehicle was ready for delivery. I am looking to run the loan application after credit gets ran for the final time prior to my closing. A nice ballet of timing hopefully. I am fully aware this could all go the wrong way and I will lose part of the tax credit, but the house is the priority.

I also have a promotion hopefully coming through in November, as long as the CFO signs off, that should be sizable and alleviate some of the worry about making purchases during a closing. I will likely also have to deal with a bigger loan until next year when I can put my bonus on the principal and maybe refinance.

Interestingly when I ordered and got the call I was told my vehicle was a Tesla direct delivery to my home. I got an email from the local gallery that said it would be the Service Center. The second phone call reaffirmed Tesla direct. I live in Tampa so stranger things.

Ditto. I’m a June 28 order that was first contacted for delivery in August. Home under construction, and I’m trying to make all the pins fall - in order - within a week or two in November.

Ordered a white P3D with the performance upgrade on 9/16. I still have an edit button with eta of "by Nov 18" and haven't received any word from Tesla yet.

It will be delivered to Honolulu, so I don't expect to hear from them for a bit (though my RWD was ~3 weeks from order to delivery).

That said, I wonder if removing the performance upgrade package, or changing my paint color to solid black will get me matched faster or put me back in line as though I'd ordered today...any ideas?

There is no way to know. The cars are built in batches. From late June to early August, they were not building P3+ with Black Interiors at all, then a flood of them from that point on. You never know what the next configuration batch they will build next.

So I was originally scheduled for 9/30 then I moved to 9/28 due to weekend plans. I just received a call today from Costa Mesa saying they can do a home delivery (host driving the car to me) as soon as tomorrow evening. That'd save me a trip down south so I accepted. I guess I won't be able to have a good look at the car since it's going to be late and they've driven it collecting dirt and dusts. VIN is 84k

I took delivery last night at the Rocklin CA Service Center.

Great delivery experience! Everything came out great with the car and I was the only person taking delivery at the time, so there was no rush and I had plenty of time to check things out. The Rocklin team was great and I look forward to the next visit.

This delivery was the great, but only the second best experience that I have had. I took delivery of a MS in 2016 at the same service center and I would rate that experience perfect in comparison. With the MS there was a much more involved delivery experience and “catering to” the customer (+swag), whereas with the M3 it was more sparse. As expected and I didn’t mind it at all - just throwing that observation out there.

Soooo I sold my model 3 RWD on Sept 14th and ordered by P3D+ black on black on Sept 15th and got notice it’s ready on Sept 19th!!!???! Should I be worried lol???
My delivery specialist gave me my last 6 of my vin and it is 082XXX...I’m excited and worried all at the same time!
My first car got crushed in a transporter at the final drop off point and they located another one within days just coming off the production line, a week ago.

This new car is also black on black 82,500 so our cars appear to be related. Delivery next Wed for me. Let me know how yours looks! Congrats!

Will do! Let us know how yours turns out too! I was just curious the production timeframe for our VIN range...I hope these are not cars that have been sitting around or rejected by others! It’s amazing how these forums help us sooo much and drive us crazy at the same time....I’ve never cared about VINs or production dates or stickers on doors prior to being a Tesla owner hahahaha....

So I placed my order on 8/30 online. Original ETA was “before October.” Got a call to schedule delivery for 9/29, I was able to pick up today. :)

Delivery experience was meh. Took about an hour, most of which was waiting around. Hood was misaligned slightly and I had pointed it out about a week prior, so I assume they were fixing that still as I could see the hood open and close on my app.
