Red pixel running through screen

I just went into my car randomly today and haven't drove the car the past week due to covid. And I saw a red line running through the gh my screen. I know it was fine after an update and then boom this happened. I'm on 12.6. Anyone else have this issue or seen it before? I scheduled for a ranger but have ppl got denied?

Bad line of pixels. It happens. Just get your screen replaced.

If resetting the screen computer doesn't fix it, it's a bad screen or bad video circuit. Replace hardware as needed.

This is a symptom of a panel failure. Replacement is the only option.

It is typical lcd panel failure.
You need a new screen

First one I’ve heard of. It happens. I had an Apple Notebook have this type of thing once before. They didn’t fix it, because they said it was within acceptable levels of pixel damage.

I’m pretty sure Tesla will replace yours though. That’s more than a few pixels.

Hey everyone, just giving a quick update. Got a call from the ranger this am and informed me to report a bug, once you report it the car will take a screenshot and from there they can see the pixel as well. He informed me that it is covered under warranty which is good.

Also my car is a April 18 build with 20k miles. HW3.

On the bright side, one of my friend said it's just a stuck pixel and only needed to run a video to remove it. I was more incline to do that since I didn't want to buy another screen protector. So I tried the fix and took about 20 mins and screen is back to normal again.

First things first: If it's a hardware issue, no screenshot is going to show that. You'd have to take a photo of the screen to show it. If it fixed itself, then... well, I don't know what to tell you. I suspect the issue will come back again, but I hope it doesn't.

This will probably come back. I hope I’m wrong. It looks like part of the connector is loose or failing. If it comes back, I would put it in day mode and take a really good picture and get moving on a replacement.

Sometimes gently pressing along the edge where the line starts helps. But like others said, it will most likely come back. I would have taken it in to get it replaced while the line was showing.

Hey everyone today the a blue pixel came back but in a different spot. I scheduled an appt with service to get it replaced. You guys were right that it would come back. But man for it to come back a year later is weird. Will keep you posted.

Just take it in to Tesla. Tell them it keeps happening randomly...they already agreed to change it before...you have photographic evidence...change screen and put this behind you!

Yes. It's a board issue if it goes and comes back. Next time take a picture with your phone so it's on record.

Thanks everyone for your advice. I took pictures so I'm covered... And the 1st time it happened, the ranger told me to report a bug cuz it takes a screenshot as well. So just FYI for those that didn't know.

Yeah how long you had your call... Even if it fix itself, it's best to just get another screen.
