They are updating EDD today, now my EDD Sep 12 Oct 17

Same! Was September 11th - October 23rd yesterday!

Please send help!

My kids are definitely cut from the same cloth. First trip out in the new spaceship and they figured out they could control the media from the back screen. I assumed that it was only available in park?

So naturally the first song of choice was a Rick Roll 🤪

It's cute seeing them drunk on their new found power. Hopefully the newness will wear off soon after a few Minecraft tutorials and Pink Fluffy Unicorns Dancing On Rainbows. My finger is already twitching to slap that "lock" button though :)

It's a miracle...after 518 days we've been VIN'd! 7SAXCDE52NF356XXX Now just need to convince Tesla to hold it until we're back in the country on the 26th. EDD now shows Aug 20-24th so just need a very slight delay, 1 or 2 days in shipping/receiving/prepping for delivery.

Tracking sheet has been updated
It is awesome to see everyone get VIN's but truly awesome to see anyone over 500 days get vinned. I only have 56 more days to go to get to my 518 day mark and hope for the same :)

EDD is just a prediction. Shortly after you get a VIN You will be contacted by your delivery specialist. When they physically get you car they will do a final inspection and prepare it for delivery. I got a message to select from several days and time to pick it up. If you need a different day, you can simply discuss it with them and they will work out a delivery date.

Some delivery centers are extremely busy and will need to get your car delivered quickly. They have no room to store them and need to deliver hundreds a day when busy. Other centers are more relaxed and can be accomodating to your schedule. Mine sent out confirmations and reminders to make sure we each knew when the delivery center would set aside time for them to introduce me to the car, go over the operational items, show how to do charging, set up the key cards, sync with our cell phones, download the Tesla app, etc.

For us, it was a pleasant and un-hurried delivery experience. When we drove out of their driveway we had a basic understanding of what we had purchased, the major points of operations, the seats adjusted, mirrors adjusted, info tainment system explained etc.

Drove home, and sat in the car for a bit. Went through the display and set all the variables to my preferences. Automatic headlights, wipers, cruise distance from other car, security, mirrors tilting, cruise +/-, autopilot max speed, autopilot 1 or 2 clicks to engage, door automatic opening, passenger door unlocking, display brightness,...lots of things like that. Took about 15 minutes and my car is now tuned to my desires.

My MX pickup appointment is now scheduled for August 15 in Devon PA.

A somewhat tangential question. I have had AAA my entire life (a vestige of my parents - and I just did what they did). With my new MX and my wife's 2021 MY, do I need AAA? Can AAA do anything for a Tesla? Do they have mobile emergency charging vehicles?

afaik there's nothing anyone can do for a dead EV without towing it somewhere. And given there's not much else minor that could go wrong and be remedied roadside (seeing as there's no spare wheel/tire), the ROI for AAA is probably minimal/nonexistent. I suppose if you get a certain # of tows included, it could be a nice safety net to have, but not sure how much it'll cost you.

Updated time frame.

August 2 (Tuesday) - got VIN (original order date May 6, 2021)
August 4 (Thursday) - got notice of "your Model X has just departed from our factory and is in transit to your delivery center"
(I have always been told that you don't want a vehicle assembled on a Friday afternoon or a Monday morning)
August 8 (Monday) - got notice of "Congratulations, it's your turn to schedule your Model X for delivery. Select your tentative appointment now at ..."
August 18-20 - three-day window offered for appointments. This compares to the still showing EDD of August 17-21.
Appointment webpage: "Appointments last 15 minutes." Available times are hourly 10:00 am to 3:00 pm, but my local store is new and not yet busy.

Transport is from Fremont to Virginia.

I still have my AAA too and I have 2 Teslas as well with no ICE cars. I have used it once when I got a flat tire and need to tow my MY to the closest tire shop. I have never used Tesla Roadside assistance and therefore didn’t know how much they will charge for such service. From what I heard, Tesla Roadside assistance can take a while to come and the coverage can be spotty in some places. But someone else who have experienced Tesla Roadside assistance service may be able to comment better.

I just looked up AAA membership page and they now have roadside EV charging as well which may be useful.

Last but not least, AAA have discounts for various things like airport parking, hotels, etc. We use this discount several times a year and therefore still keeping our membership.

Also, even if you don’t use the service for yourself, you can use it to help your family members who still drives ICE cars. As long as you present during the service, AAA doesn’t care whether it’s your car or someone else’s car. I helped friends several times who got locked out of cars, need towing, etc. Just make sure you know the maximum number of services you get per year and don’t exceed it.

Having said that, I’m very interested in hearing other people’s experience with Tesla Roadside assistance

Wow, I (happily) stand corrected on roadside EV charging! That's a game changer (plus what you mentioned about AAA discounts, I always forget about those)!

Some issues that I noticed during my first 3 days -
1. There’s little to no air from the third row vents, saw many people with the same issue
2. There’s a rattling noice when driving on bumpy roads, it’s consistent and we couldn’t find where it is from, sounds like coming inside the cabin
3. The charge port door doesn’t open when I click the button on my mobile connector that came with my 2018 Model 3

Will schedule a service appointment, would really appreciate it if anyone has any suggestion on any of my issues :)
Having graduated from this thread some month and a half ago, I thought I’d come back and hang out with y’all under class men lol. I have the above 3 issues and then some. #1: intern climbed in the third row and deemed there is air blowing out albeit minuscule, ergo within spec. #2: seems to me the rattling/creaking noise is a settling noise due to poor FWD/door to body fitment, intern could not replicate issue ergo no issue. And #3: sometimes charge port requires multiple pressing of button.

And as an aside, my DC was very accommodating; allowed me to open car and take as long as I needed to look things over before accepting which I did, spent over an hour to have issues like getting the FWD to recalibrate and open fully. And so even with some minor issues, I accepted and took her home. The acceleration and ride was like butter! I felt so fortunate to be able to experience this amazing car at last.

Then came the ugly; about a week after delivery, the car died in my garage so she had to be towed. After 3 weeks of waiting for parts, I got her back. The service report said the front body control module failed and was replaced.

The story continues as I’m scheduled back for a front bumper replacement as some damage occurred while in service. They will also replace the rear triangle window as it protrudes.

So, in summary, she is beautiful and lives up to the hype, but is very high maintenance, I guess that’s the price of beauty lol. So some advice to those taking delivery; If you get a near perfect car, jump for joy as you are an outlier. For the rest, be ready for the reality that is this Refreshed Model X.

Really sorry you’re not having a fantastic experience @Stro. I have had almost no issues with my X (minor FWD alignment and a few other minor things that basically I got over really quickly).
Love that others are more fortunate. It's all good. Life is never perfect. My Cybertruck WILL BE perfect!

I have a Cybertruck pre-order as well. I just looked at the Reservation Tracker Google Sheet, looks like even though I ordered on November 22nd (the day after the unveiling) my reservation position is somewhere in the mid hundred thousands. How about yours? I'm guessing that my yet-to-be-delievered Model X will be quite old by the time my Cybertruck shows up. Elon might already be on Mars by then 😅

Hey... Sorry I've been away for a bit. I only get my 15 year old son for half the summer so he gets all that time and all my attention.
Now he's back with Mom and I'm back to making new content.

My new video focuses on Phantom Drain, I have already gotten some blow back on this one so let me say this up front. It's NOT TESLA SPECIFIC so I don't discuss power loss from Sentry Mode. I am speaking to all new EV adopters and many won't have Sentry Mode.
I hope those getting their first EV will enjoy the video.

I have recently book 5K miles so I'll be doing a video on that soon too.

Thanks for the info, my fellow alumna!

Hope they can fix the rear AC, if it is at all possible…

For the rattling, we found the issue - it was from the driver’s side captain chair, guess it was not bolted down well enough.

The charge port issue is weird - it never happened to my Model 3, I tried unlocking the car first and then press the button holding the connector as close to the charge port door as possible, but still no luck. I’ll try at a supercharger in the next a few days to see if it is my mobile connector or the charge port door itself.

The earliest I could schedule was 9/7…

Sorry to hear all the issues you’ve been having, hopefully everything will be resolved soon!
