Hey. Wanted to drop by and share a new discovery I’ve found about the missing key fobs. Ordered back in May 2021, got delivery mid August for reference.

I was told they no longer included them by delivery specialist.

I decided to put in a service request saying that my car didn’t come with them and said when I placed my order back in May 2021 they should have been included. I was able to get them that way. Hope that helps with folks who really wanted them.
How did you put in the service request? App?

Like others I had an EDD adjustment today.
As shown in this table the range starts 3 days later but the overall range is 2 weeks shorter.

I _will_ be trying this. Thank you.

Woke up to a VIN!

Question for those of you who have been through the process. The reservation is under my wife's name. Does the financing need to be arranged under her name as well? She would prefer me to deal with all things financial on this one, and it's easiest to take out the loan under my own name. Not sure it matters since we're married, or if this is going to gum everything up.

I think easiest would be if they can just register the car in my name, but not sure if that's allowed by Tesla since the reservation is in her name.
Yahoo! CONGRATS 👏 👏 👏

There's hope for us July 2021 reservation of the same configuration.

I agree that the modelY seats feel more plush. The X seats may be more firm because of the ventilation which is fine and I prefer the ventilation over plushness. The X headrest is uncomfortably far forward so I removed it and adjusted it more vertically and is great now.
You are right about the FOB. It was fantastic with the auto presenting doors and easy to open/close the Falcon doors. The phone does not work well with auto presenting. Falcon wing doors: Who is going to take their phone out of pocket, open Tesla app, select car, wait until it loads, wait more, click controls, click the arrow of the door you want. The FOB was perfect and I finally found one on eBay today.

Do we even know if they are going to make more of these fobs? I mean they have been out of stock since almost when they made the change. How much was the one on eBay?

Filled out service ticket for fobs has $18 estimate to program fob....hoping they have them for me🤞

On the Palladium Model X (and Model S), Tesla Service doesn't program the fobs...you do it yourself from inside the car. (Technically you program the car to recognize each of the fobs, and yes a fob can be used for multiple cars.) So there's really nothing for them to do for $18 or whatever.

On the original Model S/X, the "programming" had to be done by Tesla Service (not sure about the Raven Model S/X but I think those worked the same as the originals).

I am guessing the order is wrong. The 2022 fob requires no programing by the service center. Normally ordered from the web site and programmed by the customer. $175 I believe. When I got mine in June with the car, I had to program them myself after I got home. They did not work when we drove away.

I suspect they ordered a replacement legacy fob, which will not work on a 2022.

I did not know that. I'll have to give that a try. If the two cars are next to each other in the garage, do they both unlock simultaneously?

Actually let me back off on that statement a bit. I *think* this will work, I kinda recall some post(s) here from someone trying this successfully.

(No personal experience with this...I do have two Tesla vehicles but the other is a very legacy Model S, whose fobs are complete different and incompatible.)

I picked up my X LR(7 seat, White Ext, Bl Int, no FSD) today from Fremont. (VIN 3630xx received on 9/22). I originally ordered 7seat XP in Jan, forced to change to 6 seat soon, and got a VIN in early March. However, Tesla just couldn’t deliver that cat after numerous two day delays almost to the end of March. I finally decided to reject it(didn’t even see the car) and got my deposit back and changed my configuration to MX LR 7seat, then had to stand at the end of queue which was mid Oct-thru Jan23.
Early last week, my EDD was pulled to the last week of September (EOQ luck?) and picked it up today.
The pickup experience was awesome(I mean, the car is flawless, as far as I can see) although they won’t allow me to check the inside before clicking “Accept”, which I didn’t argue cause the car looks so flawless looking from outside all around and peeking into.
After Accept, I found tow hitch, floor mat, adapter for non Tesla charging, and key cards(no fob). (Ordered charging cable with $200 credit Yesterday) I didn’t take a photo of my car cause there‘s nothing to show other than a perfect (and boring) white car.
I drove home and setup Homelink and now it’s all done. Yoke steering? Adjusted to it in 10 sec and love it. Turn signal? The same.(I am 71 year old, so young people should adapt to it in 5 sec).
During the past nine months, I read this chatroom almost every day to get a feeling of the quality improvement and yes, Tesla seems to get its acts together, and I felt confident that my car would be no problem.
Anyway, thanks to every one here venting one’s frustration but as most people got the car and say, “It is worth the wait.” Your car will be as flawless as mine.
So hang on Tough!

Yeah specifically mentioned again in chat what I needed they resubmitted same. I'll update when I find out anything.

Funny you should mention this... I've been in contact with 3d Maxpider for the last couple of months and this morning they confirmed that they have a limited selection available at Teslarati (https://shop.teslarati.com/products/tesla-model-x-custom-fit-floor-mats-3d-maxpider) and they will have wide availability "in 3 months or less."

I ordered a full set of these mats and finally got delivery today. They ended up running out of the frunk mats, so they are backordered until December. They already charged me for them, and after this experience I'm thinking about asking for a refund for those mats and will order them from somewhere else.

This was my first time ordering from teslarati, and I probably won't again:
- Ordered 9/8
- 9/14 I got a tracking number saying my order was on it's way. FedEx estimates delivery 9/16
- 9/16 EOD FexEx still shows not having received the package, so I email teslarati support to figure out why.
- 9/19 I get an response (sorry for the delay they don't work on weekends). It says they just packaged it and shipped it.
- 9/20 I get an email saying they just packaged it and it is ready for shipping but no frunk mats until December.
- 9/22 FedEx still shows they don't have the package. Email support again. Get a response later that day saying they halted the shipment because of the frunk mat. WTF? I ask for clarification, and why they aren't sending the rest of the mats. Just kidding, they are. Today or Tomorrow.
- 9/23 afternoon, FedEx finally get the package.
- 9/25 delivery.

For the most part the fit is good, although all the mats are labeled as Model X 2020-2022, but i thought the 2022 models were different in the trunk? It makes me wonder if these are actually the 2022 fit or not. Does anyone have pictures of what 2020\2021 rear 6 seater mats look like? I also thought the 2nd\3rd row mat was a single piece, but looks like it is two pieces.

That sounds super annoying. I just ordered the front and middle today. How’s the fit in those areas? Mind taking a picture? I’m not in a big hurry, just want them within a few weeks before the rain comes

although they won’t allow me to check the inside before clicking “Accept”

What kind of BS business practice is this? I have a delivery scheduled in Fremont and if I'm not allowed to inspect the inside of a $156k vehicle before accepting it, they can piss right off. The arrogance of Tesla sometimes.

BTW, did they charge you the "Destination Fee" on your paperwork? This is normally $1,200 charged for delivery and it's currently on my paperwork but it doesn't make sense if you're literally picking it up at the factory.

Looks like i didn't grab photos of the front, but the fit there is pretty perfect. The middle is good too. I wish there was some coverage over the sliding portion of the captains chairs (probably with a slit in it to allow forward\backward travel), as i can tell my daughter is going to be getting a ton of dirt\sand in there. I'm sure over time that will be really great for the seat moving mechanism. I guess I just need to remember to clean before needing to take 6 people.
