RWD LR Order?

I wouldn't be surprised they upgraded RWD to AWD with current new prices.. lets hope they do it

It would be the only reason they didnt official announce when RWD would "start" production.. they didnt want to give a headups of an incoming price drop, which would make what we expected to pay in 2019 for RWD almost the price of current new AWD pricing..

Tesla is pushing the LR RWD orderers to upgrade with this AWD price reduction. They are testing our resolve and patience.

OK, Elon. If the stock hits $1650, I’ll upgrade to AWD as long as I can keep the FSD for $6,000. Deal?

But, since FSD went up to 8k, for me as a week one orderer w/FSD in Blue, the difference between AWD and my existing RWD order is still $4k. ($3990) -- (55000 -> 58990)

My LR RWD w FSD and 7 seat config is $57k and AWD upgrade with same config is $60,990.. stilll AWD upgrade for me is ~$4k more ($60990 - $57000 = $3990 more).. I’ll wait for their response on LR RWD.. if they honor my FSD price, I’ll end up paying $2k more.. but that’s my last option.. I’ll wait for Tesla’s move..

So this basically accomplishes what most of us have unsuccessfully tried with Tesla: honor the preorder price so we only pay $4K more to upgrade. Even with the increase in FSD price, now I will pay only $4K more to get the AWD, which I will do. for someone who did not order FSD, the new price is even better: just a $2K from the preorder LR RWD price... Good luck everybody!

A bit more for me since black is $1k now, so I suppose if folks don't mind switching to white, $2k isn't bad at all

For those that want the lower FSD price, I am confident in the future, elon will lower the price for a limited time. Seems to do that with autopilot every few months

Does your order have FSD package?
If so, did that price jack up to current pricing? Thats the catch for me when I spoke to sales guy. He said that it was likely possible to upgrd my Y LR RWD to AWD for original AWD price but that the FSD would adjust to current cost. My resi has FSD for just $5k and upgrade would jack it to $8k.

I do have FSD and the new pricing maintains my original FSD price, which was $6k. If your 'vehicle specialist' does the RWD to AWD request, you should only see a $4k price change.

not sure I follow... I don’t think anybody needs to even talk to a rep to achieve what you just described. The AWD Used to cost $4K more than RWD when we ordered. AWD now costs $2K More than $RWD. So you can upgrade online, and if you don’t have FSD, you’ll pay just $2K more. If you have FSD, you’ll pay $4K more, since FSD itself costs $2K more now. What does talking to a rep provide better than these, I don’t understand.

If we forget for a second the "free $500 upgrade" to the 20in wheels, today the LR AWD same config is $50,990

So, all in all for only $500 extra you get AWD!!

Depends how bad I want those 20in wheels I guess!

Nice way of looking at it Good luck! I'm actually thinking of placing a new LR AWD order instead of changing my LR RWD. I'd still rather get the LR RWD ($4K less) if it is going to be available this fall as some say...

Talked to Chat, they stated that my wheels will go up in price if I upgrade to AWD. I think i'll just wait it out to see what happens instead of paying $2500 more to get AWD...

At this point I'm really thinking hard about cancelling my reservation and getting that $3k deposit back.
I'm guessing all the AWD pre-orders have been fulfilled by now.
They'll probably skip LR and go straight to Standard Plus for 40k

Wait til July 22 earnings call? If they don't comment on it then, then I say it's cancel and reorder time

I say they'll offer AWD as an upgrade option for 2K to waiting LR RWD customers, otherwise disable the front motor and ship (and increase the cost of post-delivery AWD upgrade to ~4K). And potentially build a SR+ version with RWD and smaller battery down the road depending on customer interest.
