Please pardon my kids' leftovers in the picture, but I had this alert also. I saw that the center wire had severed from the center buckle. I took the buckle apart to see what could be done, but the piece that the wire ends into is not dismantle-able. So I took it out of the buckle, broke it enough to get pieces of wire I could connect to and twisted it up. It isn't really enough wire to wrap, so I ended up using a dollop of clear caulk. The alert does not fire, but I suspect it might whine when someone is sitting there. I could not find a replacement to purchase except from eastern Europe, so I will hold out for a while. I did find the exact part number: 1085942-01-E
