Scary Delivery Process

Going back to the original post, is delaying delivery by say a week a big deal with the Model 3? My possible scenario would be the opposite of the OP. I live in town near the Fremont Delivery Center, but I do have an out-of-town business trip coming up that could conflict.

I just configured a few days ago, I have a 4 week estimate who knows exactly when my actual delivery will be ready. But if at exactly 4 weeks, I would be out of town for up to one week. My worry is they just send you to the back of the line (not the reservation line, but the configured line who are waiting VIN assignment), as they want to keep the cars moving off that delivery lot if they are producing 1000/week.

My Model S delivery experience (inventory home delivery, not my choice) wasn't so great. Didn't matter what I told them about my travel schedule in advance, they called with half-day notice when I was out on a weekend trip - had to wait another full week for them to reschedule delivery.

As the final chapter in my delivery saga, finally found someone to look into why my Tesla App wasn't showing my new car. Turns out the Delivery Specialist never recorded my car as being delivered, though it was. Until that was resolved after 5 days, no Tesla App key. But the good news is that during the period of my car car being noted as not delivered, my use of Superchargers was free! Figured it saved me about $11!
