Sentry Mode issue: “Cameras Unavailable Please Try again Later” when trying to use live view

Hello all!

Just purchased my first Tesla(Model 3 LR) and when I try to access live view in sentry mode I receive Cameras Unavailable message as shown in the attached picture. I’m using an iPhone 12Pro running iOS 16 with the latest Tesla App. Any idea how to resolve this?

Hi, thank you for the response. There is no one in the car at the time I’m attempting to view the camera. Doors are closed and there appears to be LTE service. Does live view required a USB storage device? I don’t have that set up yet.

Our 2018 model 3 started doing the same thing.

Working fine for my M3. Make sure that sentry mode and remote camera access are enabled in the car.

Sometimes the server does not respond.

Turn off WiFi and try using the cellular signal on the phone.

Ok so there is a step to configure sentry that needs to happen directly from the screen in the car? Sorry for the question I know I can probably go to car and look for it. The problem is i took delivery and then dropped it off to get tints and stealth wrap so I don’t have access to the car. Now I have to wait another week!!

Doh. Thanks! They did add a in car switch at some point. Ours used to work but recently stopped. Enabling the switch in the car fixed it.

Another question, when you access the live camera remotely is there any indication at the car that someone is watching remotely?

It shows a sentry mode event and shows it is recording on the screen

Just wanted to close this thread out. Once I enabled the live cameras fro the confkf screen in the Tesla itself I was able to view live cameras from the mobile app on my phone. Thanks to everyone who helped me through this.
