Tesla spokesperson Khobi Brooklyn told Fortune that Tesla has now delivered “hundreds” of Model Xs, and says the company plans to soon start shipping “general production” versions of the Model X cars. These general production Model X cars, which cost at least $70,000, make up the bulk of Model X reservations.

And so it begins.....

So, He-who-shall-no-longer-be-named was wrong.

Nice find! That means at a minimum, 200 Model X delivered  And there are a few more days to go in the year, so Go Tesla Go!!!

Voldemort Voldemort Voldemort.

It's EDS. EDS EDS EDS. But I am happy that EDS appears to have been totally incorrect:biggrin:

What bugs me about the Fortune article is that the emphasis of the article is on a handful of signature Model X vehicles being delivered (which everyone already knows about). We don't read about the quote of "hundreds" of Model X vehicles already delivered and the decision to soon start delivering regular production versions of the X until the very end of the article. The most important info is not reflected in the title The earthshaking information is hidden at the end of the article. Why?

It's all good. More time to accumulate.

Also because ALM's bank transfer is still not done yet. So he paid off the reporter.

Oh snap!

What is this excel? Even the most basic program would store the number value correctly without the need for leading zeros. You wouldn't need to store each one as "Gigafactory 1", "Gigafactory 2", etc. You would simply store them as 1, 2, 3 and so on. The dataset column would be headed as "Gigafactory" and you would just number them from there. Stocking the word on each line would be a waste of effort and just needlessly complicate the code. ;)

So they are just limited by the word size of their storage field. So it is likely either 32,767 or 2,147,483,647. Either way I think we are good for a while :D

Great :) I found it interesting, that a CR journalist did not care to double check his facts, not even for the best car in his list! He wrote:
We didn’t think it was possible, but the 691-hp P85D wowed us even more than the base model Tesla S

This is not correct anymore, as Tesla lowered the HP number for P85D by ~200. And now, the Model S design studio does not even mention any horse power. Wish he just used the acceleration numbers instead.

The Fortune article was update... hundreds produced not delivered. A pretty big mistake for a Tesla spokesperson to make.

Update: The story was revised from the original after a Tesla spokesperson said she had mistakenly associated deliveries with production numbers. The company has produced “hundreds” of Model Xs rather than delivered “hundreds” to customers.

I'm not sure if that's important right now, since with a 20k+ wait list, the only impediment to hundreds of deliveries, has been production.
Edit Addition:
Partly depending on how Tesla words their statement of the Q4 numbers next week that distinction might be important. But I don't think it will matter by the ER/CC.

Wow, how does a person in this position make such a technical mistake?
