April 2016, Forgestar wheel failure

Crazy. He was banging hem off the curbs though. Definitely running them hard. Still they shouldn't of broke down. I highly doubt any of these wheel companies do the testing that's needed. There really is no regulation to wheels. All say not for road use. Havent had any issues with my Signature wheels. They are the first set ever made for the model S too. Why not put them to the test and run them on a P100D

April 2016, Forgestar wheel failure

I have never owned a set of Forgestar wheels, but I have seen wheels from all kinds of brands (HRE, Volk Racing, etc) fail at one point or another. Some of these brands are well known for their track use, quality, etc. I think that as long as there is not a large history (however you want to define that) of wheel failure by a brand, then brand xxx would be fine.

My model S sitting on Dubs from EvWheels easily saved $500-$1500 compared to other brands.
20x8.5" +35 - 31.2lbs - they actually weight 31.5 per wheel.
I bought Extreme continental tires DWS from America's tires they are rated for 40k miles pretty quiet,
super thin on the tire walls popped one going over the curb.

This post is just too funny to not comment... 31.5 lbs per wheel is the race equivalent of a boat anchor
Even the Tesla OEM 20" wheel is significantly lighter at 28.75 lbs... a decent forged wheel should be under 20 lbs.

Take a look at the 20" M3115 Forged Model 3 Wheel here The Tesla Model 3 Wheel and Tire Guide

Long time lurker, first time poster.

Here’s my set of 20 inch Vossen VFS4’s.
20x9 +32 front and 20x10.5 +45 rear. Got them at a deep discount for Black Friday - hadn’t seen another MS with them on the internet. Needed a +11 hubcentric spacer custom built to get the rears to not rub the shocks. All pictures on standard height but lowered using Unplugged lowering brackets.

nicee.
how many revolutions of the lugnut can you get on the rear wheel studs with these wheels + spacers mounted? i recommend a re-torque after a bit of driving and would check if thread engagement is sufficient at the same time (8-9 turns? can someone comment on exact minimum recommendation?). hopefully the lug nuts are of a steel material as well. sorry to bug, but safety first 8)
