Stolen Model S please help!

Last week my father's Model S was stolen from outside our house. Luckily he was able to track the scumbags who stole it and get it back. However having got it back Tesla have siezed the car and have not many any contact of when he can have it back or any courtesy car. Has anyone been through something similar and can offer some advice!

I'm guessing to see if they were hacked. But if that's true, they should have asked permission, not just taken the car. Though this doesn't sound right...

According to Tesla because it happens so rarely they wanted to work out how it was stolen. They sent 2 engineers over from America

This sounds pretty doubtful to me, or at best extremely incomplete. At least in the US, if a private party without a valid ownership claim "seized" a car, that would be theft. It would surprise me if the UK were much different.

If this is real, I'd suggest talking to the police.

I'm still very doubtful about this story. As I said previously, if your father actually owns the car, and this is real, go to the police.

The police are working alongside Tesla

You don't have to let Tesla work on the car. You can tell them you want the car back, now. It's your car.

OTOH, if you want to let Tesla work on the car so this doesn't happen in the future, I'd demand a loaner from them.

My father has been lead to believe it was Tesla who have the car

The overall customer service he has received has been very poor considering the amount he paid for the car. Has phoned numerous times and nothing has been disclosed. A shame for such a great car and company

Not to my knowledge. Even if that was the case, courtesy car should of been given

Do the police in the UK normally give out courtesy cars? They don't in the US.
