This allows them toI'm not sure why picking up chunks of debris has anything to do with the coming launch. The only thing I can imagine is that they want to be able to spot any new debris thrown out by the second launch. They could do that by using a drone to image the whole area, or just keep cameras on the surroundings during the launch. This way, they're going to have to walk all over the habitat once to pick stuff up, then again to see if there's anything new out there - and they'll still miss stuff.
