You are welcome. Feels like September to me. Not sure how long the rest of the mall has been under construction. Someone said for years
The center itself was due to be redone years ago but it halted for some reason. The Equinox gym was put in a few years back, but that was the only construction going on for quite sometime until now. The new SC and facelift on the mall seems to have begun at the same time.

We have cabinets!

Glad to see progress!

Either the architect or Carlsbad planning didn’t want a high retaining wall, so they split up the wall into two parts and put the cabinets between them. Unfortunately, this resulted in the cabinets being elevated over the parking lot.

IMHO, they could have achieved almost the same look, without cabinets staring down onto you, by building a large back retaining wall, and keeping the front wall and setting the cabinets at parking lot level.

This screams of too many cooks in the kitchen. A committee compromise.

At least progress is being made. Love those huge bus bars!

Can anyone tell yet if they are going to have battery storage at this location?

Well, now that you mention it, what are those cabinets in the latest picture with the word UC on them? The 10 Supercharger cabinets are in the back row and the switch cabinets are in the front row. They either have to be more switch cabinets or batteries.

The construction foreman did tell me no solar, but I didn’t ask about batteries.

Too many cooks in the kitchen is par for the course in any coastal SD construction work...

Keep in mind, for any permitted customer electrical project, the local "Authority Having Jurisdiction" (city, county, etc.) is the agency responsible for completing inspections, and advising the utility when approval is granted, so that the project can have a meter installed, and energized from the grid.

Yes, but beyond that, with any electricial utility they need "Permission To Operate" (PTO). It is not uncommon to have all city inspections completed, yet PTO has not been granted (this is when they plug in the meter).
