It seems odd to me this location has so many stalls at such high charge rate. I understand there are an absurd amount of Teslas in the area, but wouldn't 72kW stalls get the job done for the locals? Or is this location expected to be a high traffic interstate traveler location?
To elaborate further, for regional commuting or travel:
- If one is heading south on 85 to 101S, the next non-urban Supercharger is Morgan Hill, 30 miles south.
- if one is heading north on 85 to 101N, the next non-urban Supercharger is Mountain View, a few miles north. But that one is unusable during rush hour in non-COVID times, as you have to fight Google traffic for 20 min to go one block. Beyond that, the next non-urban Supercharger is San Carlos, 20 miles north.
- if one is heading north on 280, the next non-urban Supercharger is Daly City, 40 miles north.
- if one is heading south on 280 (which is actually going east at this point), there is the 10 stalls Cupertino supercharger one mile away, but next one if going to the East Bay is Milpitas, 16 miles away.
So while there are a good deal of urban chargers filled in for locals, this actually fills in a void that had a 20 mile radius for longer distance travel.
