There were four of us at the Indio SpC at noon last Sunday. Found a nice little deli with good food. Good discussions, even though the turnout wasn't great. 3 other MS showed up to charge. Largely empty during the 2 hours we were there. Thanks for the nifty pens Frank.

What deli? For that matter, what other dining choices are there? It may have been mentioned deep in this thread...

There is a small deli in the second building west of the SpC, very short walk away. Didn't get the name. The local Subway shop had lines out the door. There is another sit down eatery opening up(?) in the same building where Subway is. Also Mickey D's, etc. are a short walk away. Lots to choose from.

Cabazon Outlet: construction of a supercharger has been reported to be underway today. If you are local please go check it out. I do not have the exact location so it may take a lil hunting but my info is spot on!!

We're driving out to Disney on Wednesday. We were thinking Of stopping at the outlets also on the drive. If we do I will take a look! Any ideas of exactly where it supposed to be? Near what stores? I thought I read previously somewhere behind one of the sections.

No, I don't have any additional information on each location other than construction is underway at the outlets in Cabazon CA. We will have to rely on locals to pin down the exact location. To my understanding the crew installing Cabazon CA is also doing to El Centro CA.. I think maybe part of the crew is working on one location while other crew members are working at the other site. My info is through a reliable third party.... the only sentence that ought my ear was that Cabazon was under construction... when I asked at the outlet mall? The response was yes! Their main focus was El Centro CA of which they had 1st hand knowledge.

Stopped by today, it's confirmed. On the very west end by McDonalds. That's really the only place they could put it where it wouldn't constantly be ICE'd.

Supercharger Cabazon, CA (desert hills premium outlets)

Thanks for confirming... with photos on the Supercharger Cabazon, CA thread!! That's a good spot for those us who travel I-10 regularly. It will take pressure off Indio CA and Rancho Cucamonga CA as more MS's travel the southern CA corridors. I think it is primarily an installation in prep for MX and ME. I'm glad Tesla is ramping up!

Great to see pics were posted! We couldn't stop either way on our trip to Disney. Our 18 month old doesn't like long drives yet and we just wanted to get the trips over with as quickly as possible. Hope you understand :). Had a blast at Disney and used the indio SC without any issues!

Independently of these three threads, we also discovered this deli over this weekend (Jan 9-11), and went there on our out & return stops. It is
Charli's Italian Bakery Deli & Wines (no typo), and not only were its sandwiches and paninis excellent, but its staff also were supremely friendly without being solicitous. The sandwiches were huge - we should have split one between the two of us - and we also made the mistake of pre-ordering one regular cannolli, which after the sandwiches could barely eat, let alone enjoy. Absolutely recommended.

Yes! I too found Charli's on my last trip. The service was extremely slow, and for obvious reasons. Their sandwiches are not just slopped together like at Subway. There's a lot of love put into each one.

Way past zero!!!!!!!
Do you know what the wind speed was for headwind by any chance? And did the 6.2 trip planner feature help at all?

6.2 = +19% as best I remember. The wind rolled in with the mornings weather. It was my bad!! As I pasted the point of no return my ranged dropped 3-4 per mile. The last 10-7 on 'zero'. Charge NOW!!!! SC slow to recognize car as it was -7 to -10 once I got there.... "thank goodness! I had... had a similar incident several months back... I just forgot about it! Complacency! Under planning for this leg! Lagged in my usual howgoesit reviews. I usually like to arrive with 1-5 miles remaining for the fast charge but today's winds got me off guard. Going east to west next time I'll charge to 120 for this 40 mile trip because I want to travel at the limit the entire distance regardless of winds. I felt like a rookie and really thought I'd be experiencing my first tow in!!! ...... but I crawled in with -10 I guess!! YIKES! I hope to never do that again!!! Slowed to 30-35. Got behind semi's. They lost me. 4 way flasher on as vehicles zoomed in on me. Embarrassing!

Drove the highways/freeways from Los Angeles to Indio for years starting in 1958. Saw the desert grow into major commercial and industrial area plus all the fan farms. The winds were never fun when they did hit, but speed limits were much lower back then. The blowing sand was disasterous for your paint. No Indian Casino's back then either...Palm Springs used to shut down on Memorial Day for the summer months due to the heat.
