I would have thought a portable Supercharger would have been active for the Memorial Day weekend. Perhaps it'll be ready for the 4th

It's just wired in like the pallet Supercharger is at the end of the line of Superchargers.
they brought out 2 trailers for Coachella weekend and since then they've taken one somewhere else and left this one. this morning my car diverted me to charge in rancho mirage, saying that the Indio charger is temporarily closed. this adds an hour on to my already 90+ min commute. they need to get indio up and going at a decent speed, or at least more chargers. I'm hoping that's what they're doing at the moment

@bmah Tittle change or a different thread? Technically it is an expansion but the address for the expansion is the adjacent parking lot. Also same for the SCinfo guys, keep the current PIN or add another one on the adjacent parking lot? @Big Earl @Chuq @corywright

I figure if you are using the same restroom and the same restaurants as the last Supercharger you are at the same Supercharger, but Tesla put two Superchargers across the street in Mt. Shasta and around the same building in Las Vegas so what do I know.

And seriously the Northbound is different than the Southbound at several locations? I guess if you can't walk between them they are not the same.

Transformer on site. 20 stalls? A few more pictures. Bruce….. no new name required… they are right next to the existing chargers. Transformer on site. 20 stalls?

A few more pictures.

Interesting how the actual charging hardware is distributed nearby to each group of four pedestals. Have we seen a site laid out like this before? The vast majority have the charge cabinets placed close together, with longer runs to the pedestals. With this layout, the DC interconnections between cabinets for shifting power around will be longer, but the runs to the pedestals will be shorter.

Maybe some kind of pre-fab bases that have pedestals and charging cabinets pre-installed? It vaguely reminds me of Santa Nella, although the physical layout isn't exactly the same.

Bruce.

Those are like the installation in Beaver UT- Sort of instant Supercharger, they are set up as a 4 pack and brought in on a flatbed truck, craned in and hooked up quickly. We were actually in Beaver a couple of years ago when they were offloading the stalls. It was pretty cool to see them on the flatbed. Brilliant on Tesla's part if you ask me.

If someone runs into ONE of the four chargers do they have to crane out the entire site and replace it? Or is it still designed to be worked on from above? Certainly not as easy to park directly behind these Superchargers with a trailer still attached.

Wonder when/if they'll armor the cable so people can't cut them.

The layout is somewhat similar, at least for the nearest eight on the left side in the photos with spaces on one side. For the more widely-spaced accessible stalls and for the arrangement on the right with stalls on both sides, the prefab blocks we've seen before would not line up. And from the construction photos, it seems all were constructed the "normal" way. It's possible that they did it this way just because there was enough room to do so and no requirement from the site to fence in the chargers (which is easier when they are all in one place).
