Yes there is, I was the one who found the permits initially . The other one is still going through planning. I checked on it a few days ago.

And... here is what I expect is likely my last update before they finally turn these things on!

All construction is done and fences are down, upstairs and downstairs. All *conduits* have been painted matte grey to match the walls/ceiling of the structure. All signage is up. All parking stops have been installed in the spots, which they’ve started painting with “EV CHARGING ONLY” (2 of 12 so far). All twelve chargers are installed.

It sure seems that all that’s left to do is take off the trash bags and turn them on!

Only those 2 spaces will get that ground marking. It's part of the design to meet the disabled accessibe EVCS requirements in the CA building code, which for a station of this size is 2 stalls. Same reason there's the grided out walkway in between only those two stalls.

As a point of reference, the time between "appearing" ready and actually "being" ready at the Anaheim Hill urban supercharger was about 1 week (May 7 to May 15).

That site is served by Anaheim Public Utilities while Irvine is served by SCE. The time for different utilities to install and/or activate the service for a Supercharger site could be materially different.

As a point of reference, the time between "appearing" ready and actually "being" ready at the Anaheim Hill urban supercharger was about 1 week (May 7 to May 15).

Also as a point of reference, the time between "appearing" ready and actually "being" ready at the Newark urban supercharger was about 10 months (November 2018 to September 2019).

The permit website looks like they are doing final checks on the electrical part over last few days and correcting if needed. Starting on 9/20 up until today.

Super great idea. Maybe steal a Panini from next door while at it?

Seriously please don't anybody try this (cameras everywhere, security everywhere, VIN recorded by Tesla, etc.). It might delay these chargers to those of us who could really use them. Besides the testing is already taking place as posted prior.

I did and there is no power on.

The final permit still hasn’t been issued, and the final inspection is not scheduled. So Tuesday at the earliest.
