+1!!! I've done the trip and it's not fun for my 60kwh. Primm is ideal and fits with Tesla's overall premise that SCs are for long distance travel.

There's a pair of 30A Charge Point chargers in Primm. Not ideal, certainly not a SC, but if things look dicey a one hour charge there would give some comfort in those last few miles into Barstow. Until the last SC map update the dot was in Primm, so perhaps it's still a possibility.

Some of the equipment looked the sme as the flagstaff photos. I can't think of a reason why tesla would take down pics of havc equip. Sorry guys, should have copied, pasted te pics to here

The pictures you're talking about are back up on page 47. Not sure why the URL says pg46 but I see the pictures you were referring to.

I'm not sure what they are though. It seems like some of the equipment from Flagstaff had the logo on the boxes. These just have a tarp. Not sure.

The chargePoint app currently lists the Primm Whiskey Pete's 30a chargers as "not available". I wonder what's up with both of them. I'd use this option...

Was just looking into this,

Having a look at http://www.a2zlasvegas.com/transportation/ev/ shows you all the EV Charging Stations around Vegas,

What I found really interesting was the charger at the Cosmopolitan and Palazzo.

An example:

And a Facebook Comment: These ARE NOT Superchargers! These are old style Roadster chargers with an adapter to fit the model S that will get you 30-40 miles of range per hour charged. There are NO Superchargers in LV as of 11/13

There are two charge ports at Primm. Number 1 is functional. Number 2 is showing a fault, the installer is working with the people on site to get it fixed.

The local service center is working with local properties to install HPWCs. TM provides the HPWC at no cost to the property. The property pays installation and power costs. Hopefully more of them will show up at strip properties.

thanks for update! This is great news about the HPWC. Second best option if there's no SC planned there

I'll go check out 701. But I can see it from my office window and so far no signs of anything. The equipment that was there is gone, and it appeared to only be AC stuff. I have also checked recent building permits and there is nothing I can find, though they could have pulled it a ways back.

Since it appears that the first Las Vegas supercharger will be downtown, at 701 Bridger, I thought I would put together some restaurants people can visit in the time it takes for their car to charge, within walking distance.

Eat. One block north, southeast corner of Carson & 7th Street. Breakfast and lunch only. Tasty, but nosiy. http://eatdtlv.com

Big Ern’s Barbecue. Container park, one block north, northeast corner of Carson & 7th Street. www.bigernsbbq.com/

Pinches Tacos (yes, Spanish speakers, that’s what it’s called, they haven’t been allowed to put up a sign yet). Container park. http://www.pinchestacos.com/

Le Thai. Fremont Street, south side between Las Vegas Blvd. and 6th Street. My favorite place downtown, try the three color curry or pad Thai. http://www.lethaivegas.com/Le_Thai/HOME.html

Radio City Pizza. Fremont Street, north side between Las Vegas Blvd. and 6th Street. Lots of TVs for watching the game. Radio City Pizza Las Vegas - Radio City Restaurant Group

Right next to that is Insert Coin(s), an 80s arcade/bar. http://www.insertcoinslv.com/

La Comida. Fremont Street, southwest corner of 6th. Where Elon and Tony Hsieh had lunch to discuss Tesla things. http://www.yelp.com/biz/la-comida-las-vegas?nb=1

There are also plenty of nearby places to get married.

Once you get west of Las Vegas Blvd. on Fremont, all sorts of stuff is in play, including Hennessey’s (Irish Pub), Mickey Finz (Fish Tacos and the like), Heart Attack Grill (surprisingly bland burgers), even a Denny’s. North on Las Vegas Blvd. you'll find Rachel's Kitchen (American comfort food), north on 4th Street is Nacho Daddy (nachos and Mexican with a full bar). West of 4th Street on Fremont, and you’re into the Fremont Street Canopy and all of the downtown casinos, so there’s all sorts of stuff to eat and do, including the soon to open Slotzilla zip line that can take you all the way to Main Street. It would be about a 5-7 minute walk from 701 Bridger to the edge of the canopy. The SC site itself might be a bit spooky for some, but one block north you’re in the bright lights, crowds and security of the Container Park, and west from there is no problem. Just don’t go east from the Container Park yet. It will be obvious which way to go. We believe the 701 parking garage will be home to nearly 100 Teslas, so I suspect the security will be significant.

If you're staying on the Strip, downtown is worth a trip anyway, certainly for the amount of time it would take to charge. Downtown is undergoing significant changes, if you haven't been downtown in a few months you will find lots of new things to see. And in a few more months there will be even more.
