Has anyone heard anything or come across any information about the location of the upcoming Peoria IL Supercharger?

I'm going to be heading that way down I-74 for the first time in a while this week, so I could drop in and take some pictures if we know where its going to be. I've looked, but it doesn't seem like Illinois has the same level of information about upcoming charging locations that can be found for Iowa.

I'd also be interested if anyone knows anything about upcoming CHAdeMO chargers in Peoria or on I-74 since they'd make it worth it for me to pick up the adapter. This part of Illinois is still a bit of a paid to get around in.

Didn't notice any obvious signs of new chargers, or any work to upgrade existing chargers while I was in Peoria yesterday. Spoke to a manager at the Grand Prarie Hy-Vee by phone the other day, and they didn't know anything about getting Superchargers or any other L3 charging upgrades.

Lockdown with dine-in restricted is really driving home just how much we need decent fast charging infrastructure in Illinois, and how ridiculous the Illinois EV penalty is. For me this year it may wind up being the equivalent of $1 a gallon or more. If its really not intended to deter people from buying EVs that money really should be going towards infrastructure enabling EV ownership.

Tesla homepage now says target opening Q1 2021, so I guess... soon? I hope it will be behind Grand Prairie Hy-Vee, although have not seen any preparations yet when I was there a few days ago.

I heard it was going to be at the Hy-Vee on Sheridan/Lake st. (aka Sheridan Village). Home of the former Bergers department store that is now demolished. This would put it 4 stop lights off I-74 mile marker 88 in the center of town.

Was able to obtain key details of the permit via a FOIA request I submitted to the city. The Supercharger will be at the exact same location as described by @jn427

Also part of filling in the I-80/I-39/I-55/I-70/I-35 rectangle, along with the planned Superchargers in Hannibal, MO and Mount Pleasant, IA.

Follow up to yesterday’s post. The photo from yesterday of the concrete bases shows just one base, and it turns out that’s the one for pulling into the charger nose first. The rest of them are against the existing west curb of this parking area.

Below are some images from this evening. The street has been dug under today, all the bases are in, the framing for the cabinet slab has started, and conduit is being ran.

Confirmed it’s a V3 Supercharger as well. I’m updating Supercharge.info to reflect that!
